USA Policy positions of Donald Trump; let's see how many he achieves

There's no merit to it, you clown. It only sounds good to you because you gullible drink the Trump Kool aid.

Your posting in this thread has been embarrassing, but you're way too ignorant to be embarrassed.
I understand there is no winning here as I am clearly outnumbered, im genuinely surprised how many lefties there are in here who take everything they hear on the project at face value, but it is what it is.

Im sure most who agree with me have given up a long time ago with you guys

No, the difference is that you're another Trumpie who believes the disinformation because (1) it's what you want to believe, and (2) you're so lacking in education that you don't understand what you're supporting. Add to that the ignorance of being unable to recognise expert opinions in technical fields.

How's the promise to drain the swamp holding up?

Little Marco Rubio is the definition or a career politician.
Trump administration IS the swamp. MAGA have been conned.
As have those who were concerned about Soros. Elon is actually what they feared Soros would be. Again they have been conned in my opinion.

I guarantee 99% of the left didnt know how tariffs worked either..

You reckon?

That wasnt the main thing he got voted in for anyway, it was more around immigration and the democrats generally being out of touch with the average person.
I thought it was the cost of living?

One specific thing I said I wasnt fully across, and I know nobody else here is fully across it either because it hasnt been explained to the general public yet
Google it! Just... 2 minutes reading. EVERYONE was talking about it.

But it's mathematically impossible to fully replace income tax with tariffs and ensure same government revenue. Last year US had 3 trillion in total imports and raised $2 trillion from income tax. To get same revenue you'd need to tax (ie tariff) that relatively small base at ludicrously high rates to get equivalent out of income tax. And this assumes demand for imports would remain constant with absurd tariffs on goods which it simply won't.

Sorry to bring some annoying facts to the debate.
Tariffs have been explained here clearly several times. Some posters willfully ignore responses or other information so they can make their hot takes between classes at junior high school.

Trump isnt an authoritarian mate, hes just america first with no consideration for other countries or non citizens. Hes not the nicest at doing things, but you cant deny hes effective at dealing with other countries and getting favourable outcomes.
If you honestly believe he wants to be a dictator then you have been a victim of propaganda, sorry to say mate

Democracy is the worst form of government aside from all the others. Yes it gives the uneducated a voice, but whats the alternative? IQ tests for a vote? a little quiz to determine if you have any knowledge on the election at all? education is NOT a sign of high intelligence so rule that out, aside from that you start to go into forms of government where someone takes power and doesnt let it go, like many other countries do.

The 49% vs 51% thing, of course you discredit the opposition, particularly before an election. You need to say why you will solve this issue that the other side will create/perpetuate. When both sides have different goals of course theyre going to be different.
The media in general is guilty of making this worse, they all push that you have to pick 1 side, and if you are on the other you are EVIL(the left does this a LOT). That doesnt leave much room for talk or compromise.
In fact I think that is a large part of why the dems lost, they called white men evil, they called anybody who doesnt embrace trans people evil, they called people who dont support an open border evil

The fact he tried to overturn the election when he lost seems pretty authoritarian to me. Fake elector schemes, find 11000 votes etc.

Though that is somehow explained away now. Be interesting to see people contorting themselves if he gets into implementing any of the stuff threatened by both himself and in project 2025.

Majority of people who vote democratic are more educated than republicans. I’d say a high percentage of them knew what a tariff was.
or at least learn something about it before making strong pronouncement about them.

this shit reminds of the tax cuts and the supply side economics voodoo. Kudlow actually had the gall the use that term then. Back in early 80s, in my first econ class at uni we debunked Reagan's trickle-down policy. 40 years later they try again. It was a known thing that didn't work, yet the masses lapped up the snake oil spiel.

Is that what they call 'robust feedback'?

Its different, it'd reshape the world economy for sure

Whether it works or not is a mystery still, it depends on how other countries react. How much other countries rely on the USA or are afraid of what america could do will decide it.

The USA can be self sufficient, but whether its an upgrade or not, time will tell

Reshape the world economy for the worse, for sure.

One nation has a policy of being self sufficient, they call it Juche. An upgrade, it is not, time has already given its verdict.

There is no mystery, its economics 101, any first year student studying any subject that includes an economic portion learns about the effects of tariffs. Frankly the fools who talk about this as if it is some brain storm with unknown results remind me of the fools who question the Theory of Evolution, calling it just a guess. They would make mankind smarter if they went to a high place and tested the Theory of Gravity.

Apologies, I wasn’t referring to you, I was meaning the person you posited that YouTube clip to. I really shouldn’t post here when I’m still half asleep. 😔

LOL, I've gotten to the point of impatience with these Trumpie types who pretend there are real policy reasons for voting for him. Clearly, there are reasons that millions of people voted for him (and hundreds of Australians support him) - discussed ad nauseum here - but it's not his tax / tariffs policy.
