USA Policy positions of Donald Trump; let's see how many he achieves

LOL, I've gotten to the point of impatience with these Trumpie types who pretend there are real policy reasons for voting for him. Clearly, there are reasons that millions of people voted for him (and hundreds of Australians support him) - discussed ad nauseum here - but it's not his tax / tariffs policy.
Harris' laugh, she was a terrible candidate, celebrity endorsements, anything but admit they ignored every standard that they would ordinarily hold anyone else to to support Trump.

Republicans will officially control the house now. Trump has a trifecta. To not delivery on his promises, given that, would be an abject failure and list him amongst the most ineffectual presidents in history.

Everyone agreed?

True, but the migrant deportation policy is a horrible violation of human rights.

I'd almost respect Trump if he did an about face on his deportations policy for humanitarian reasons. But we know he won't, he's just appointed a dude to run the program (Tom Homan) whose hatred of foreigners just oozes from him. He'll be very effective in the role, because he hates the people in line for deportation.

The fact he tried to overturn the election when he lost seems pretty authoritarian to me. Fake elector schemes, find 11000 votes etc.

Though that is somehow explained away now. Be interesting to see people contorting themselves if he gets into implementing any of the stuff threatened by both himself and in project 2025.
Yes it’s funny isn’t it, the ‘freedom’ anti mandate crowd seem happy enough with the idea of Trump using the military to go house to house to round up and incarcerate millions of immigrants, their families, their children.

You mean like in Australia where unlawful citizens Unlawful non-citizens are subject to automatic removal from Australia under the Migration Act.

Because that's the art of the deal. Aim high, knowing that you won't get it, and then appear to "compromise" to end up where you really wanted to be.
Breaking every single one of your election promises along the way. Such leadership. So trustworthy.

Be interesting to see what happens with Rudd, I wonder how Aussie MAGA might choose to spin not being allowed to pick our own ambassador.

Don’t see what the issue is. Half his cabinet said things much worse than anything Rudd has.

If anything he’ll get satisfaction knowing he can probably shit can the guy any time he wants. Rudd probably wants to stay in the US more than anything

or that you will be deported, if you are an adult, amd are born in america, but your parents were illegal.

This sounds like made up nonsense to me.

If Harris made everything up then didn't hit any of her targets she'd said, you'd be moaning endlessly about it.

Right. As if the humanitarian reasons weren't well known beforehand. Would be the most cynical of changes if he did that.

To be fair. A role of an ambassador is to represent our country and leverage what advantages he can to Australia's benefit. If he's going to be ineffective in that role due to Trumps feelings towards him we probably need to replace him.

I say this as someone who hates Trump and thinks we should tell him to go get ****ed, but that's not how it works.

I fall into the more curious camp about Trump rather than the 'he's a ****ing idiot and everyone that voted for him is an idiot & i'm smarter than everyone else' camp.

But **** me can this bloke just lie any more?

Craps on about being anti-war then appoints 3 absolute war-hawks & a literal psychopath to control the border.

I agree but the crowd that screams blue murder about any real or imagined risk to our sovereignty will be all good with Trump saying who can and can't represent our country in America.

This is not an insurrection, he wanted his case heard first
Technically not an insurrection, he just made concrete efforts to nullify the votes of 80 million people.

Oh ok, thats all fine then and totally not authoritarian :drunk:

He jumped around after every question
Just like you apparently :tearsofjoy:

NV and PA then, New Hampshire and Rhode Island the only 2 that require photo ID that were blue is very interesting too.
Ha, imagine being sucked in by Newsmax and that graphic.

Suspicious lack of labeling on the red states too, I'm sure they all have stringent ID requirements right? :tearsofjoy:

Can’t wait to see the plan. Where exactly are they going to be deported to and what humanitarian infrastructure will be in place to receive them?

Homan is a complete dunce. He is at all times extremely dumb, xenophobic and worryingly in a powerful position

What will be fascinating is the degree his advisors will influence the decision making on tariffs. Surely the inflation concerns will mean a watering down of it all.

Ditto on deportations.

I suspect there will be a bit of theatre and bombast about it all but in the end won't be anything near what has been promised.
