USA Policy positions of Donald Trump; let's see how many he achieves

Nope. Disagree, with RFKjr spouting the rubbish that he has eating Maccas and making it out to be part of a healthy diet is contradictory to his stance against big business and American health. He needs to be rallying against shite like Maccas instead of advertising it.

Not sure i ever heard him say a balanced diet isn't a good thing.......dont recall ever hearing him say that fast food should be illegal, but maybe I'll take your word on it.

He does far more damage with his anti vax opinons than having the occasional Maccas burger...

That one, at least, we have the answer to. In a live recording of The Joe Polish Show published Tuesday — before his shiny new position was officially announced — RFK Jr. said the “stuff” Trump puts in his body is “really, like, bad.” He called the offerings on Trump’s private jet “just poison,” claiming that “you’re either given KFC or Big Macs. That’s when you’re lucky and then the rest of the stuff I consider kind of inedible.”

i take that as the context of if you eat it often, which he alludes to trump doing.

I dont think he's suggesting you shouldn't eat it at all. Maybe that's just my view. A burger here or there isn't a big deal, can have a very healthy diet and then the occasional fast food.

I'm surprised this is what people are focusing on. And not his lunatic anti vax stuff, which is where the real damage could be caused.

Have a listen to him, direct from the man himself.

"ultra-processed food" would be Maccas....

*edit i am sure you will say that he didn't say that fast food should be made illegal so will squirm out of it no doubt

Where in that did, he say that fast food should be illegal? i only read the subtitles though so forgive if i missed it.

The context i see is that he's saying USA has an obesity issue because a lot of people only eat these types of mass-produced foods, i did not see him say that you can't fast food amongst a well-balanced diet?

I think he's more speaking to the lack of moderation between the USA population, and processed foods.

Read like a book. Must have missed the edit before you replied.

Standard response.

So you suggest he said something, i ask where. Than I'm the one squirming because he didn't say it? Bizarre train of thought.

Amazing that this is the hill you are dying on when it comes to RFK jr, the guy is pushing dangerous anti vax theory's and you're choosing to have a gotcha moment (a poor one at that) over a hamburger.

The US problem is they do not eat these foods in moderation, for a lot of them, this is their main diet, ergo the obesity issue they have.

when politicians go into power past actions and comments come back to life.

who knew the defence candidate paid off a woman for an alleged sexual assault
,now where have i read this before?

Peter Hegseth, the military veteran, Fox & Friends chat host and Donald Trump’s pick to head the department of defense, reportedly paid a woman who accused him of sexual assault – an encounter that he insists was consensual.

According to the Washington Post, the unnamed woman was paid an unknown sum after signing a nondisclosure agreement.

wow. Donnie has already said he is going to deport legal citizens, born here, if their parents are illegal. Even if said parents are elderly, and they are middle aged.

Racist bigotry. Ethnic cleansing....
Yes, but everybody knows what Donny's like.
So it could be a case that Donny will deport some legals who even voted for him.

you can also apply common sense rather just apply a gotcha moment........

RFK never said he was going to push to make all processed foods illegal. He simply pointed out that the US population consumes far too much processed food as part of their regular day to day diets. The fact he is having a hamburger is irrelevant if he's doing it amongst a well-rounded diet.

You should spend more time focusing on his anti vax rhetoric. Thats where the real danger lies with him.

I get your point however Maccas isn't part of a well balanced diet and is a huge part of the problem in what Jr says he wants to stop. In that photo they aren't just eating a burger and chips they are openly advertising a brand that is as damaging (if not more so) than alcohol and cigarette brands.

When he knows that many people see McDonalds as a major part of their diet, promoting it further is not smart.

Why not decline, and use the opportunity - as a leader would - to model the diet he wants to promote and have a sandwich and a piece of fruit instead? A nice big salad? A plate of meat and greens?

I get yours also but there is absolutely nothing wrong with eating McDonalds as a treat or on the go when called for. The problem is a lot of Americans only eat this type of food.

Just like with Alcohol moderation is what is needed.

You can have a very healthy diet and then have things like alcohol, fast food as long as it's balanced in amongst a wider healthy diet. I think that's more to what the point being made is.

I suppose you would have though common sense applied......

You dont need to go cold turkey on bad foods to be healthy. You just need to make sure they are in moderation like all things.

Looking at Donny belly I don't think he eats McDonalds in moderation

the fact that McDonalds is a staple on this private jet suggests you are very correct!

But see this is the issue- of course moderation is ok with anything in life but when RFKjr's whole policy rests on the evils of ultra processed food (and vaccines) and making America healthy again eating maccas with a wry grin on your face, sitting with unhealthy slobs isn't a good look. He needs to lead.

They voted in Trump. Common sense is not as common as you think.

When he KNOWS that too many people eat too much fast food, he knows the "common sense" horse has bolted. This PR photo is a shocker.

A "they'll work it out" approach to issue leadership is not leadership at all.

Agreed stupid photo. Nothing good can come from it if you want to change americas health.

God, we are back to the "they didn't vote how i wanted so they are dumber than me" angle.Dont you get tired of posting in an echo chamber?

I'm not interested in this left vs right crap.

All i did was point out that RFK jr didn't say he was making processed foods illegal. And that his context is that too many people eat out of moderation of highly processed foods. If you think a single photo with a hamburger is the big gotcha moment.......than geez.......politics really is that cooked.

Far more effort should be spent on his anti vax opinions and what that could mean with him in a senior health position. Thats the actually dangerous part of his views are.

Well at least i agree with you about the vaccine part!
