Giddy with Power.
The orange walking crime wave, the immature tech bro, the cheating brain worm, the Christian Nationalist pron hunter, and cocaine junior.

RFK looking pretty orange too to be fair

You're saying that RFK promoting Maccas is a bad thing, i'm telling why that's not necessarily accurate.

1. Food and Nutrition

Trump has promised that Kennedy’s leadership will focus on combating chemicals, pollutants, and additives that he claims contribute to chronic disease in the US.1 Kennedy is known for touting healthier diets, discouraging seed oils and pesticide-heavy agriculture, and advocating for raw milk, despite health risks associated with unpasteurized dairy.2 His potential influence on dietary recommendations would likely face challenges in balancing industry interests with public health goals.

and?

He is saying he wants to clean up the food industry, not just delete fast food forever..... he's talking about the use of individual ingredients, that are bannedd in other countries, not the entire pyramids of fast food.

Literally from the same article you posted.

I think we all agree (you included) that it is not a good look having a photo of him advertising and eating maccas. Trump and the brand are synomous. This is obvious. It's not the end of the world just not something other self professed health gurus would do.

too a small degree yes, but i certainty dont think it's as big of a deal as its being made out to be.

RFK is far more dangerous in the realms of his other health views, especially relating to vaccines. Let's talk about that shall we? The fact he's still pushing the vaccine/autism link is alarming.

It's funny that one of the first public photos of the guy since being nominated for head of Health, who is talking about healthy eating as a primary concern, is of him eating McDonald's with an obese bloke.

100%. Extremely passionate about vaccine usage and health in general and I've said it another thread I'd be taking my young family out of that country. Herd immunity could be a thing of the past if his ideas catch on.

it's pretty alarming to see someone now so senior in US health still pushing the idea that vaccines can bring on autism.

mind boggling given the science

It's MAGA down to a tee. Crappy American fast food and obesity. It's probably 'woke' to be looking after yourself physically.

I think people are a bit smarter than that.

I'd suggest most would know just because RFK has one photo with Maccas, doesn't mean he is eating it every meal.

You can argue the optics are bad. fine. But i dont see a massive issue with it when you line it up against his general messaging to date.
They actually aren’t!
And Kennedy promoting maccas when he wants to ‘get America healthy’ again is also jokes. Has to go down the tofu path!

Of course it was staged. At least the part with everybody sitting at the table. I saw it as a typical Trump power flex to keep an underling down. Remember the uber-cringy cabinet meeting in first term with each participant testifying how grateful they were to Trump and how magnificent he was? RFK was getting some extra press on policies that could possibly run counter to the boss' own. Show the mob where his place is. I notice Johnson doesn't hold a product.

The context is important. He's on a private jet. It's not like he swung by Maccas in a rush or didn't have any alternative available.

it was probably harder to get Maccas than healthy food.

I know some health nut anti-vaxxers who think RFK is the next coming of Christ. This picture would shock them. But they'll make excuses, like they do for Trump and move on.
Yep- they are sitting in the private jet continuing this pretence of ‘we are just a bunch of average guys like the rest of you.’ Trump has been quite successful in connecting to the ‘common man’- something I suspect he has never been remotely in touch with, but it’s been a selling point for him. So a smart plot even if it’s bollocks. And amazingly, they are such 5 year olds.

That is not acting as a strawman.... that's just called having a conversation between two people with different opinions......

Bizarre you would label that some type of strawman moment lol. Because i dont agree with you, i guess?
The hardcore RFK supporters are different from Trump supporters. Trump supporters celebrate their lack of education.

RFK supporters think they've gone one step further and are smarter than all the scientists.

There's definitely some rules and regs in the US which are detrimental to human health, like the old food pyramid and the ridiculous amount of sugar. Some of what RFK says about eating healthy is good. But he's starting to get close to the Democrat version of do-as-I-say, not as-I-do. When you're eating maccas, you're promoting poor health.

Trump supporters absolutely don't care. RFK supporters (<5% of people) definitely do. They're the kind of people who believe in chemtrails and that big food corporations are brainwashing people with hidden chemicals.

So it contains ingredients that are banned in Europe, which he thinks is a good thing but is happy to pose for a photo eating it?

Any comment on his vaccine stance?

The extreme far left and extreme far right. The meeting place where conspiracy theories come to blossom..

i take that as the context of if you eat it often, which he alludes to trump doing.

I dont think he's suggesting you shouldn't eat it at all. Maybe that's just my view. A burger here or there isn't a big deal, can have a very healthy diet and then the occasional fast food.

I'm surprised this is what people are focusing on. And not his lunatic anti vax stuff, which is where the real damage could be caused.

I’m with you on that. RFK has plenty of crackpot views, but having the very occasional Big Mac isn’t one of them.

If you zoom in… Mayor McCheese has two bottles of ketchup.
He is a fraud! USA

Over 70% of adults and 20% of children are obese in the USA.

A one beef patty has 510mg of salt and a bag of fries has 189 mg of salt, it is recommended that a daily intake of no more than 2000 for adults is recommended. So right there is 1209 mgs.

Also that bottle of coke (say 200ml) he has there would have about 14 teaspoons of sugar.

Not sure how anyone can minimise that.

So you suggest he said something, i ask where. Than I'm the one squirming because he didn't say it? Bizarre train of thought.

Amazing that this is the hill you are dying on when it comes to RFK jr, the guy is pushing dangerous anti vax theory's and you're choosing to have a gotcha moment (a poor one at that) over a hamburger.

The US problem is they do not eat these foods in moderation, for a lot of them, this is their main diet, ergo the obesity issue they have.
I suppose you may call, a high rate of obesity in children/adults and also a high rate of other medical issues due to the intake of salt and sugar in burgers and coke a 'gotcha moment' at a stretch.

I’m with you on that. RFK has plenty of crackpot views, but having the very occasional Big Mac isn’t one of them.
I think it is very legitimate to point out that RFK is a fraud and a hypocrite. His stance on vaccines is well known by all posters on here and being in a photo eating McDonalds with the unhealthy amount of salt and sugar (coke) is very legitimate in pointing out given the high rate of obesity in the USA.

That poster always softens anything related to Trump/Republicans and hammers all things Democrat/Biden/Harris.
