Has anyone looked at how musk makes money? % of government funding and his carbon credit swaps?

Just like trump they know how to rip off the system and tell the tax payer how they should be grateful for them

Yeah, maybe, but at least Musk is delivering something real. I'd be more than happy to see the government spend zero on management consultants like McKinsey, BCG etc. They provide absolutely nothing.

Decades old tech gimmicks to distract from non-delivery of billions in government contracts?

Yeah, but much better value for money for the US Government. Space-X launches cost between $70 - $100 million per launch, compared to $2 billion for NASA' STS.

"The results are clear in a statistical analysis of NASA and SpaceX projects. In 118 space missions, NASA saw an average cost overrun of 90%. Over 16 missions, SpaceX saw an average cost overrun of 1.1%. SpaceX projects tended to take an average of about four years, while NASA projects averaged about seven years. Interestingly, both NASA and SpaceX tend to promise faster delivery than actually occurs—SpaceX does in four years what it says it would do in three, while NASA does in six or seven years what it said it would do in four."

Spending on expensive, mostly useless and self-serving consultants is exactly what you get when a ruling party guts the public service and then realises that stuff does need to get done. It’s what we’ve witnessed here.

Wow whoever was in power in 2020 went on a wild spending spree. Can anyone remind me who that was?

Trump started the spending spree (and heightened debt) with Covid but Biden continued it, like most other economies did too.

Where did the two spend the money? Giving handouts to business leaders under the pretext of saving jobs, which led to an accelerated transfer of wealth to the already obscenely wealthy? Or an investment in the country’s infrastructure?

a fair chunk of it was stimulus and other handouts during covid.

It's actually interesting, US spend has increased outside of trend from 2019 onwards in terms of real spend, but as a % of GDP has remained relatively linear, means their GDP has increased along with their spend. BUT at the same time USA debt has skyrocketed since COVID.

Basically, it means the US is spending inefficiently and spending on stuff that provides little to no returns for the country.

In short, US spending as a number isn't an issue per say. It's what they are spending it on.

Jesus christ

LOL if anything Garland is the opposite of that, too many principles and too nice. If he were unprincipled and a douche he would have started just throwing people in jail without due process days after 1/6, including Trump. He's a jurist not a prosecutor.
