Poll: Who did the best out of the draft?

Best post in this thread. :)

Didn't Bombers do the best out of this draft when they received 38% of the vote?

Gibbs, Hampson and Grigg are developing faster than Gumbleton(inj), Jetta and Hislop(inj), but Houli was a good get in the third round and shown more than Benjamin.

Mark Austin is coming along nicely.

Thank God we stuffed up and let the Bombers draft Jetta by going for Hampson.

Forgetting Reimers, been just as good as Grigg this year.

Neither were Houli,Benjamin or Mark Austin, who all get a mention in the post i quoted, and the thread is called who did the best out of the draft, not the first three picks.

I wouldnt trade any of my picks.

Except maybe for James Thomson who i would of much preferred Brad Smith (Could of easily got Thomson in the rookie draft whilst keeping Smith).

Very happy with Brown (except for his knee), McKenzie, Schofield & Houlihan. So i guess i can say that we have done the best (bias or not).

You know what, its still far too early to tell... probably best to check back in 2010!

Our final three picks have certainly shown more than our first three thus far, although that has more to do with injury than anything. Davey has been sensational, Houli has proven he can play with the big boys as an outside mid and is showing signs of ability to win clearances, and Reimers is a tough nut with attitude and a touch of class.

The jury is still out on Gumbleton, Jetta and Hislop. All three have shown enough for us to be pretty confident they'll make it.

I think any draft that you manage to find 6 players to add to your teams best 22 for the next 150-200 games has to be considered a solid success.

Wow, forgot about this thread, been so long.

Adelaide - Tippet a real find, was linked with us before the draft. Not sure about Sellar, should have kicked but probably fell for a reason. Mackay is showing signs. 7/10
Brisbane - Proud and Leungberger were good picks, Leungberger is a sure bet and will ruck for a while now. Proud is a good midfield choice. A good balance of a small and tall. 8/10
Carlton - Good, could be better. I'd take Selwood over Gibbs and probably Leungberger too, but he's developing is Gibbs. Grigg and Hampson are smart picks, Carlton need ruckmen and Grigg is a good player. We'll probably know how good Carlton went later on so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they went well. 8.5/10
Collingwood - Reid looks good for his few games. Brown looks excellent, but was a good pick in the first place, Collingwood needed KPP and they got them. Apart from Goldsack the others haven't done alot. Good draft from Collingwood. 9/10
Essendon - Looked good didn't it? But Jetta looks hot and cold and disinterested at times. Hilsop looks good. Gumbleton is under wraps and we wait for him in a few years time. Houli and Davey are the best picks so far. In all they will gain something out of this, two good midfielders (Hilsop and Houli) two crumbing forwards (although two seems one too many) and a KPP. Like Carlton, benefit of the doubt is given. But IMO it's a better effort 9/10
Fremantle - Limited picks, but still they got rid of their first drafted player which isn't a great sign. Now plays at Richmond strangely. Only two players left from that class and they aren't certainties (although the way freo are playing anyone could get a game :p) 5/10
Geelong - Best. Selwood is a ready made gun and once Hawkins becomes committed and consistent he will show his worth. Djerrkura is a good pick. 9.5/10
Hawthorn - Thorp better be good. I wanted him for Richmond, but alas no luck. Hard to say, most of the players are under wraps. 8/10 for the solid number.
Kangaroos - Hansen better be good, North will need KPP once Thompson retires, well they need some now. Thomas looks great. If Hansen comes good this is an excellent draft. 8.5/10 just for the prospect of having Hansen and Thomas up and firing would be a success.
Melbourne - Similar to Kangaroos, if Frawley comes off it's good along with Petterd who is prospect. Thing is I can't help thinking Frawley was a bad choice, he seems an old fashioned player and players like Riewoldt and Brown were there to take. 7/10
Port Adelaide - Westhoff was an inspired pick, sure he was matured but everyone knocked him back. Krakouer looks good too. 7/10
Richmond - not bad actually, drafted Riewoldt who looks good and Edwards who looks classy. Not every club drafted two solid players with their first two. The rest are projects being so late. Connors is one to watch out for. 8/10

I reckon we did alright in this draft.

Frawley, he is a full back and he's a very 1 on 1 player so it will be hard to judge him until he puts on more muscle.

Petterd, He was fantastic in is debut year until he had that terible injury, And has OP at the moment but is very close to returning..

And Garland has been very good this season and looks like becoming a fantastic defender. He is very athletic(didn't have any trouble keeping up with buddy), reads the play very well and he seems to be getting more of the ball as his confidence grows.

Why isn't Connors playing Richo? Was expecting big things from him this year. Injured?

There's a number of players infront of him, yet I would definitely be playing him for a couple of games ahead of Hyde. IMO he definitely should be playing a game or two soon. I think Richmond see him as set and not in need of gametime whereas the JON's of this world need a run, but he looks a dasher and there's no harm starting him on the pine. When Tivendale plays, Connors should feel a bit miffed.
