Having grown up in Indi, and still having most my friends and family there, I can report that's what the electorate is asking too.
The only reason she has even the slimmest of chances is because its traditionally been the bluest of blue ribbon seats for the libs. The fact she lost it in the first place is unbelievable; she emits inhuman levels of repulsion.

If McGowan could win it without the benefits of incumbency then it's very difficult to see her losing it with those benefits + a sophomore surge.
I agree, she won't win as labour and green preferences will slaughter her; the truly bizzare thing about it all is that the libs put her up again when any other candidate would have won it back. Its hard to imagine how they could have been so out of touch.

You conservatives will do anything but admit that your platform has been rejected. It's the leader, it's Labor, it's the media, it's the states, it's the Senate; it's not, it's your policy.

It is nothing to do with Abbott. Turnbull has proposed no new policies on reforming tax when challenged by Shorten. He has talked, talked, talked and backed away from any "unpopular" tax reform while the opposition pops up with decent tax policy.
You seem to put me into this nice box and label it "conservative" and then try to pidgeonhole that Turnbull is losing purely on it. He isn't. He is losing because Shorten managed to propose tax reform and other policies to build a platform on while Turnbull and co look completely out of the loop and show a distinct inability to come up with any policy.
People have wisened up to being a populist politician because if you can't make the hard decisions like Shorten has been proposing, you get voted out. This isn't rocket science, the exact same thing has happened to Labor/Liberal governments throughout history.
