Problem is we could give him help by playing the additional tall instead of him one out. Or select another ruck option and get our other decent tall marking option like English more time up forward.

But the problem is we have probably the 3rd-6th best team in the comp, being put in a difficult position every week by the MC and coaching group, equating to a 9-13 ladder position.

It’s baffling to me that the club is approaching the season like this. It might not all be on the coach but he’s underperforming massively. Massively. This team should have at least 7 or 8 wins given the back end of the fixture is brutal but it’s somehow 6-6. **** off. Just **** off.

Couldn't believe it when I saw Buku lining up for a centre bounce vs Stanley with 5 minutes to go when we were 2 goals down, with the 6-6-6 rule in place. 5 seconds later Cameron kicks his 6th and the game is over.

I know there is going to be a chorus of I told ya so's say we lost the game because we didnt play a second tall forward or because we didnt play Sweet. Im calling bullshit on all that. We lost the game because Beveridge made one of the dumbest coaching moves of his career. He did this by starting Keith on Cameron and Gardner on Hawkins. What the duck was he thinking? Neither of our players was a physical match up for their direct opponent and it gave Geelong what proved to be an insurmountable 5 goal head start. It was only when he shuffled these two onto their logical opponents (saving the two late goals to Cameron) that the game turned back in our favour.

Hey Bevo! Take a long hard look in the mirror and give yourself an uppercut. You outsmarted us out of that game from the first bounce.

Sorry but that only caused the 40+ goal margin in the first. The shit selection and game plan made it impossible to come back.

How many inside 50s do we have for nothing before the opposition gets one directly to an actual forward and kicks a goal. This has been going on for years.

Guys like Marra and Schache get a couple games and then get dropped playing one of the hardest positions on the ground while Scott, R.Smith, McComb, Hayes all of these guys who are not nearly up to it get huge blocks. They add nothing.

Don’t even get me started on the 2nd ruck. We don’t f*cking play well with 1 ruck. Period. It’s not a debate. It’s just fact. A lot of that has to do with not having a resting ruck (English) up forward or back in defense. Sweet is no star but he allows English to be a star. It so F*cking obvious!!!

Bevo won’t dare eat humble pie, so we won’t see Sweet again this year.

BTW was at the ground today and Sweet looked great at the VFL.

The seasons on Beveredge, I was genuinely shocked at how many people in here were straight back to the “it’s all apples” mindset after a couple of downhill running wins against shit teams - we did not address a single one of our problems over the last month but hey up against a good team it’ll sort itself out.

Maybe if we had another 4 smalls out there tonight things would be different.

The structure we play to is absolutey cooked no doubt and we put ourselves on the back foot to start the game but **** there was a few more problems than that tonight, the fact that it’s the biggest game of the season and we come out and get pants in the contest and our endeavour in every position on the ground is just not acceptable, we were absolutely weak as piss. Can have as good a system as you can possibly have but when genuine superstars of the game refuse to work hard - well tonight is what we get.

We’ll walk away from the game saying we were unlucky because we missed a few goals yet we were completely forced into taking bad shots all night. Naughty had a stinker and he is legitimately the only match winner in our side. Bont needs to wake the **** up because he’s a shell of himself, Macrae, Baz, Dale just playing superstar football yet can’t hit a ****ing easy target. English the softest **** in the country tonight, putrid display of football. And then yeah even considering how bad we were individually we’d still have won if we just respected a Normal football side, Bev is so far out of touch it’s not even funny, our game style is disgusting

Last quarter showed exactly why we needed 2 rucks.

English was cooked Stanley and Blicavs taking uncontested marks.

We get within 7 points- Buku goes in there. Stanley gets it out easily. 2 goals and game over.

We needed English fresher and we needed Sweet in there smashing into Stanley. A 20 yo 190cm kid doesn’t really help much.

In retrospect that West Coast game was the worst thing that could have happened.
