The SANFL All Stars team will likely be fielded wearing Crows colours - thats not exactly creating equality is it o_O

Just out of interest, are PAFC colours subject to trademark protection - in the same way that Cadbury's blue is trademarked?
I grew concerned about this when I started to see drink bottles and training tops appear.
Teal, black and white is a really attractive combination.
If the teal is not unique we should subtly change it, so that combo is unique. Clearly you cannot trademark black or white, but I suspect the combination can be, if the teal is unique.

The most intriguing part of this post is that you consider Cadbury purple as Cadbury blue

If Port miss out on a place I will have to closely examine the Eaglettes and Dockerinas lists to see which side has the most 'charismatic' players...

It would be a huge victory for our club and somewhat redemption if we were to win the first Womens licence.

There is no reason why we couldn't beat the Cows to it.

"South Australian All Stars"

So, the Crows 1991 basically.
It will be a North v South or East v West "all star" game involving players from the 20 odd SAWFL teams given what the AFL released last night. And round 2 is a state game with Vic being split into 2 ie Melbourne and Bulldogs.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-02-19/eight-womens-teams-set-for-national-comp
Round one of this year's exhibition games will include players training in state academies while round two consists of state representative matches featuring the best players from around the country.

And Tassie miss out again!!!!!

So will the Rd 3 Melbourne v West Bulldogs game on September 3rd, ie the Friday night of Finals bye week, be another game where players are "drafted" to the 2 sides rather than existing Melbourne or Bulldogs players??

If so and the decision hasn't been made about which teams are in for 2017, the best result would be if Erin Phillips back less than 10 days from winning a medal at the Rio Olympics plays, is not only Port's first player signed but announced as the captain if we get a licence next year, and goes and stars and dominates and kicks 8 or 10 goals and announces she will only play for the Port Adelaide team, otherwise she will go back to the WNBA in 2017.

There some leverage.

I'm going to say something controversial - I expect the Crows to win the right to the first license.

The AFL is all about boys clubs, and there is no bigger participant than Gill's family. However - I don't think that it is going to be such a bad thing for Port.

The AFL will want to expand this competition aggressively - so I would expect that within a couple of years there will be a second SA license. There will be limited damage to a supporter base due to this quick joining of a second team.

I expect that there are going to be some major teething issues with this comp - and I would rather that the AFC is dragged through the mud for not paying their players sufficient amounts during the first couple of seasons when the spotlight will be on them. I also get the feeling that this is very much a marketing decision for them, and as such I doubt that they are going to be well prepared to actually manage a Women's AFL team once it is accepted. They are going to require a deft touch at community level to ensure that the best talent is nurtured, and respect is maintained for the AFC's agendas. Ican see it going pear-shaped pretty quickly.

What I hope will happen is that Port will once again grow from the ground up. Connecting with the Port Adelaide team in the SAWFL is a great first step. As is the talent pathways for the juniors. Growing a strong connection with the Women's AFL community will be the key to success in a lowly-paid (at best competition. Look after your players and they will look after you.

Careful, you will be abused by DoctorFeel and others for making such a comment on here. Unless they are just selective with who they abuse.

Let it go m8.

You've literally spent the last day complaining that other people won't let it go, and yet you've posted about it more than anyone else. If you weren't so insistent on having the last word it would have been entirely forgotten by now.

Nah, Yeah OK I'll give up . No more comments, but singling out and bullying an individual is poor form. If you feel so strongly then bring all who do it to task. My last comment on the issue. Perhaps be consistent from now on. I'll let it drop now.

We need to win this battle.

It ain't over until the announcement is made by the AFL, until then, we are still with a chance.

It's not singling out or bullying.

There is naturally a fair bit of anti-crows sentiment woven through this board.

The issue is when it's brought into every thread without really needing to be. You were called out, like many, many people before you and like many, many people will in the future for making pointless and borderline off-topic anti-crows posts often enough that people started to associate you with that sort of posting.

People don't want to read it in every thread, so they've reined you in a bit. By sooking about that you're just drawing more attention to it, when it was absolutely nobody's intention to make this an ongoing thing where you were repeatedly singled out. If you'd left it, it would be forgotten. People are reacting to your posts, not to you as a person.

Great post.

Whilst the rivalry has always been there and a bit of snark is fine, over past year or so a few individuals in particular have been increasingly vocal in displaying their obsession. If it's witty/amusing/relevant, yeah fine have a crack and give us all a smirk but when you repeatedly read the same poster parroting one liners about Dean Gore in every bloody thread their fingers can handle you know it's time for singling out.
