Lol. SweetLeftFoot. A true Vanguard of the North Melbourne Football Club. A Patriot even. He's an up and comer this kid. A Renaissance Man. Champion of the Downtrodden. Give him a go. He's Okay.

you are bumping this thread and will give hell to the OP if Port wins the 2021 flag wont you? lol

God, what I wouldn't give for Port to be in North Melbourne's position right now. My jealousy of OP is immense.

I am sure your would.

North would remarkably turn a profit this season.

the funny thing is they have turned a profit in 12 of the last 13 seasons.

Do people actually want Adelaide to be the only destination for homesick South Australians?

The second SA and second WA teams exist, in part, to "equalise" Adelaide and West Coast.
this, and i'd argue a 3rd would be good in either once economically viable. Would be great to see 2 games played in each state. esp given how good the grounds are.

Nah. Last year was an anomaly with cuts in revenue to all clubs. Can’t say their issues from years ago are linked.

Making hasty calls on clubs futures by assessing them in a COVID year is incredibly short sighted.
this as well.
the previous issues they had were not of their own making and COVID is completely unrelated to that being a repeat.

No reason to be concerned they can't pull through this. esp while the window is open and AO should be pretty full for them.

Not a lot of willingness among Port people to address their parlous financial position.

Throwing stones at others won't pay the bills.

Indeed, Port should be looking at the Dogs and North for advice and inspiration in this regard.
Serious question......

How on earth has North Melbourne turned a profit in the last 15 years? Especially in 2020 and 2021 when the season was ravaged by covid?

North even played home games with empty crowds.

Because they don't spend any money.

The local ammos club probably makes a profit on the sausage sizzle every weekend, it doesn't mean they're capable of financially competing in the AFL. Revenue is so much more important than profit for a sporting club.

Massive AFL hand outs and never landing the big players they want so they always underspend.

More embarrassing than Port Adelaide and preliminary finals?
More embarrassing than going 57 years without winning a premiership and then acting like a big tough boy when you finally win one?
