Port Adelaide is not worthy of an AFL licence

And my rebuttal would be that maybe a Freo fan should wait until his club has played more than one preliminary final in 18 years before he starts rubbishing other clubs.

This is childish and stupid.

If I were to change my allegiance to what you consider a successful club the truth in the OP remains.

Any supporter from any club could point out what is in the OP and it is as correct as the next persons opinion.

This is a club that simply is not of AFL quality.

What's to look at, one of the best coaches in the league, profits galore and a level of professionalism Port would be lucky to aspire to.

Take the sentimentality out of this, put the allegiances aside, this club is a basket case and not befitting of a league spot.

Your club has made an appearance in 4 finals series after 18 years in the league, and have been the biggest joke of the competition for a very large portion of those 18 years. How about showing some class now you're no longer languishing down the bottom?

Oh god, some people have short memories. Or are you 10 years old? Or possibly a troll?

I'm all for being parochial, but step back, have a look at the state of your club and genuinely ask yourself if your organisation is worthy of being in the elite competition of Australia.

How exactly are Fremantle more worthy than Port Adelaide to be in the competition? Garbage thread.

What does my club have to do with Port not having a coach during the drafting season, during the new era of Free Agency, languishing in debt, losing supporters in droves and operating at a level which would make most WAFL clubs blush.

It wasn't long ago that Richmond were described as having the worst list since Fitzroy's last days, and not long before that had coaches help paint their rooms.

Things change quickly and Port should be given the opportunity. If they don't take it, then yes boot them.

They finished above four other clubs this season - at least wait until they win a wooden spoon or two before you start lobbying for them to be thrown out of the league. But more likely they will be playing finals football again in a few more seasons.

What a crock of absolute garbage.

Is Port in a hole at the moment?
Yes.

Will they get out of it?
Yes

Will it happen straight away?
No.

Have Freo been successful?
No.

Have Freo won a Flag of any kind?
No.

Will they?
Probably not anytime soon.

Have Port?
Yes.

Is this a Troll account created by some idiotic, immature little clot who doesn't have a basic understand of life as an AFL club?
YES.

Your Honour, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, I rest my case.

Not long ago played a grand final, not long ago won a flag, things go up and down. Not even 20 years in the comp deserve assistance to get them back on a sustainable path. If they lack key resources then assist them to get it so they have a chance.

Its easy to kick a struggling club but remember your teams turn may be on its way. Yes its a business but the money is in the comp, if anything the afl should of got this right before a 17th 18th team.

What about the human element? A bit of understanding for the fans

I always wondered if sth aust footy support might level out in future generations?

Hmm, I dunno, perhaps your club not being any different for many, many years?

Why are you looking solely at the ladder, there is much that goes into a clubs performance.

Port were underwritten to the tune of 1.25 million dollars by the AFL just to stay afloat, interest repayments of 200k a year, why, because the administrators behind the scenes fell into a hole and allowed things to spiral downward.

Now they are in a position where they cannot attract coaches, struggle to maintain players and do not supply their playing group with the level of support that is necessary to compete at an adequate level.

Do you like fish sticks?

Although it's a troll thread, Melbourne & Port right now probably don't belong in a competition that demands 'elite' performance.

I feel F.A is going to make them even further behind than what they actually are now.
