I was row W in section 12. I was a singular Port supporter, but behind a family of Port supporters. The father of the family looked really familiar... like he'd posted a photo of his kids at the mega store or something, but I couldn't find the photo (yes.. i searched for it haha)

Hoff got one game. It was originally assessed as 3 weeks but due to his 5 year good record he can accept 1 game with an early guilty plea.
Contest it. Argue that if Hooker hadn't run 20m- when the quarter was over- to get in Westhoff's face the incident would never have happened. Hooker, through his actions, instigated the contact. Argue, during a 3 quarter time break, Westhoff shouldn't expect any physical contact from an opponent, which is Hooker's only intent at that time.
I like the idea not sure it's worth the risk of an extra week.
No, it's probably not, but it's an interesting line of argument. Who really instigated the incident? Sure as hell wasn't Westhoff.

There is no risk of an extra week. It's 168 points, reduced to 125 with a guilty plea. Either way it's one week, we'd just be risking extra carry over points.
Don't see what you could challenge that on though. Westhoff pretty clearly intended to hit him. It's always the retaliator who gets caught. The fact that Hooker started it doesn't change what Westhoff did.

Not sure whether to bring in Renouf though, or perhaps Salter to give our forward line some structure. Both seem to be in mediocre form based on recent weeks in the SANFL.

I'd rather see Salter get a chance. I am not taken with Renouf at all.
One highlight of the game for me was the 80m bomb by Hartlett that hit the post...jeez what a kick and then the 70m kick was a goal. I know you didn't get the result but that kick deserves mention - unbelievable!

When he got the ball and disappeared into the bottom of a pack only to get a kick over the top of his head while lying on the ground to boak inside 50... amazing.

My favourite play from wines actually cost us a goal funnily enough. He burst from a pack after a stoppage with a fair bit of pace, but couldn't free up his hand and got caught holding. Looked brilliant apart from the end result

Hard to say. I reckon it only just nicked him.
What about when Westy got hit in the neck on the 50m line, not sure what quarter it was, but it gave us a down field kick which resulted in a goal. Was there anything in that?

I don't think Westhoff, in his entire career, has ever intended to hit anyone. It doesn't seem to be his nature. He did hit him, that's for sure, but the incident was reckless, not intentional.
