That's because the Bombers were brave without their captain and inspirational leader out their to guide them.

Seriously though, can't argue with any of those guys getting votes. Which probably goes to show how we lost, really.

We need to be clean, we need the little toe pokes and knock ons to be spot on and picked up and we need to hit our targets.

And Monfries, Gray, Neade, Westhoff etc not to **** up when they get shots for goal.

Unfortunately my 3/4 time call assumed Schulz would kick straight and pity about Stewart's poster. Needed Pittard's kick to be about 3m longer ie a foot higher when it crossed the lined so it couldn't be touched.

We had every chance to win. We dominated that last quarter for a good 15 minutes. They werent able to get it beyond the centre line. Oh well. I think goal kicking will be a key component of our pre season training this year. Its been awful all year.

BTW your cheersquad look awesome in black and teal surrounded by a sea of black and red.

Red and Black in this photo looked great too

Couldn't but take a photo of this guy before security were called for by a whole lot of Essendon people

Well it was good to see our slow starts have been addressed at least.
Right direction..

Yes, liked his efforts, in particular going back with the flight in the first quarter and that 40m goal on his left from a half chance (one of the rare ones we actually took), but geez the low percentage snap early in the last when he had Schulz, Boak and Westhoff(?) all in space in the corrdior was a bad look and for me was up there with Monfries not facing up to his demons in the third as genuine supporter screaming moments.

The coaches might have a quiet word to Robbie about that low percentage shot for goal.

Eddie McGuire after Monfries missed that snap after playing on, said he's such a good set shot for goal. No Eddie - he's not. He did the same thing against Collingwood last week and it worked. It's a sign he doesn't have a lot of confidence in taking a set shot.

Heppell was the guy who slaughtered us out of the centre in the second term. Just like Pendlebury in how he buys himself so much time to get rid of the footy and is always constructive in using it.

Those bloody lapses. You can't win many games when you give up 6 unanswered goals in 10 minutes. How easy was it for them in those ten minutes too, our pressure really dropped off for that period. I suppose somewhat admirably, we fought back and somehow still could have pinched it but we just lacked skill going inside 50, the less said about our shots on goal the better, not to mention that ****ing post.

Moore made quite a few blunders, particularly in the second, but he was always involved in the game, putting his body in and showed why a lot of us on here would like to see him persisted with.

Hartlett was ok. Makes such a difference when he kicks goals. Jesus he can send it a long way, was lookign like he might have been the matchwinner.

Boak didn't have one of his best games, but didn't think he was terrible. Will bounce back.

Didn't like our defence, but then again, it is a pretty futile task when they are drilling it in lace out.

Tough loss to handle considering we made so many stupid errors, but the guys didn't give up and we know that they'll be bloody keen to crack in against the Hawks next week. Thats something that we ca be proud of.

Pretty poor act for him to give Mark Baguley shit about a birth mark...
Seriously, you can't be serious? Giving a player shit about a birth mark is a "poor act"? Can they give them shit about their tatts? What about their weight (skinny or fat)? Baldness? Acne? Facial Hair?

If you think that is a "poor act" then go watch Tennis/Golf where everyone (including the crowd) has to be quite.

As soon as Stanton was injured, Kane should have gone to Zaharakis or Heppell with Logan on Staton. We lost n advantage when Kane followed him to the goals and Kane (or the coaches) should have been aware of the injury.

facial vilification?

I've been chuckling at this all morning.

You should post it on the Essendon board.
There's a few over there that are acting like Baguley is the new Winmar.

I think that is low from Monfries, and not something to glorify. I don't really think its news worthy though.

Absolutely correct - Heppell and Zaharakis slaughtered us in the second term and we were too late in covering them up.
Boak went to Zaharakis late in the second and was unable to go with him, possibly due to injury.

No one could have stopped Heppel. He is just ridiculously good at getting rid of the ball while being tackled, Zaharakis however..

I just want to gush about Dyson Heppel though... he is absurdly good!

As is our young Ollie Wines though!! ****ing unbelievable for a first year player to be so clean and fierce, as well as having a brilliant disposal! I don't know that there is anyone else in the team I'd rather get the ball in close.

Yeah you'd think people would've learned with Dale Thomas. Long blonde hair doesn't necessarily mean "soft" or "a gay".

Ollie!!! What a gun. I think he pushed through a pack with his head at one stage which I think Paul Gallen would take issue with but would be too scared to do anything about...

That is the worst excuse for liking Nickelback I have ever heard.
