Do fans of Storm and Broncos complain about the NRL grand final being played in Sydney every year?
For some reason it's mainly fans of WA and SA teams that complain about the AFL grand final being in Melbourne every year.
They do a bit, but not to the extent that happens in AFL.

Right now though NRL isn't really very national, certainly not to the extent AFL is. Maybe if they can grow more there will be larger calls for sharing the GF around (and think the NRL will probably be more open to it).

Finals series since 1997 (27 seasons)

Sydney - 22
Geelong - 19
West Coast - 17
Collingwood - 15
Bulldogs - 14
Adelaide - 14
Brisbane - 13
Port - 13
Essendon - 13
Hawthorn - 12
North - 12
St Kilda - 11
Melbourne - 10
Richmond - 9
Carlton - 8
Fremantle - 8
GWS - 6
GC - 0
This highlights another contrast. Richmond - just 9 finals series since 1997 (one of the worst) compared to our 14 (one of the best), but they have 3 flags whilst we have none since 1998.

Don Pyke complained about having to play at the MCG after the Crows lost in 2017.
Imagine if Kevin Walters complained about having to play at Stadium Australia after the Broncos lost this year.

Same number of coaches since 1997 for Port and Hawthorn.

Port:
Cahill, Williams, Primus, Hinkley.

Hawthorn:
Judge, Schwab, Clarkson, Mitchell.

Um, I think that is why the comparison is being made and is interesting
Port now have more top 4 home and away finishes and preliminary final appearances than Hawthorn since both sides have been in the competition, as well as having a higher win rate and leading the head to head ledger.

Carlton will have only done better than Gold Coast next season. Everyone is going past them

Hawks always seem to have the ability to make hay while the sun shines whereas other clubs seem to have a much lower strike rate. West Coast is another club that seems to always snag a flag in an era where they make a prelim final
