Thanks to Relapse on the Adelaide board.

Not sure whether Port have been cheating on a regular basis by doing this or it's just something that they were doing during the Showdown. Maybe this exposes why they seem to have such a high percentage of coast to coast goals.
Interesting stuff, I am guessing that the umps will be right on this from now on.

What is everyone thoughts on this tactic?
Will the AFL clamp down on it now it has been exposed?

If it was illegal the AFL would have issued a "Please explain" or a fine.

Umpire had signalled a behind - play on.

You won the game now move on.

Creative coaching by Kern.

And yet on the Adelaide board I cannot see where someone has posted the law that means you cannot do this? Blatant cheating? If a rule exists stating you cannot do it and if the umpire sees it and awards a free, so be it. According to the Camries board though this is so heinous a crime we should probably lose draft picks.

Healy and Sheehan gave Dunstalls "expose" the respect it deserved.

For those of us who can't view flash, could you please describe what's happening (mobile)

Its not illegal as the rules stand. There were never two balls in play and he waited til the behind was signalled. Nice set play imo. Get a jet in position during the set shot and its out the back to him in 2 kicks before anyone has blinked.

Spot on.

We got away with it once and wont again because everyone is now aware.

Patrick Dangerfield is lining up for a shot on goal. Meanwhile behind the goal line, a Port player has taken a spare footy out of the bag and as soon as a point is scored, throws it to the designated kicker. Port kick-in while the umpire is still signalling a point. The end result is the Crows are caught unaware and Port score a coast to coast goal.

Didn't cost a thing!

And the umpire had given the hand signal so it is play on.

Well there's no doubt at all that the entire Port Adelaide football club should be executed.

Forget ASADA and Essendon, forget timeslots, THIS is the biggest crisis the game is facing. There's ABSOLUTELY no doubt that kicking out the ball .5 of a second sooner than they otherwise would've done directly resulted in goals. Adelaide's ninja like defence snaps into action at the drop of a hat and had they had that extra .5 of a second it would've resulted in a turnover and an Adelaide goal.

I'm disgusted and appalled in Port Adelaide. How. Dare. You.

Needs more sarcasm smileys or the Crows supporters will rally behind you!
