A common talking point on AA
Was giving Josh Carr the final 9 weeks.Just to see how he goes .
If successful will be Ports coach 2025-26.If it doesn’t work out for Josh.Port does an Australian wide search for a new coach.
I don’t mind the idea of giving the reigns to Josh for the rest of the season, but it has to be because Ken is out the door now and not having any say or influence on anything that happens at the club ever again.

Ken Eustice used to get called Kenny Useless by some people, maybe for his less than successful coaching of Centrals, rather than as a player. We have the true, the one and only Kenny Useless.

Kenny Clueless

There should be nothing less than an Australia wide search regardless of whether Carr can steer this ship for remainder of this season.

This group has won more games than all but one other side in the last 4 seasons. With no player exits of note in the offseason. This tells you it's not a personnel issue, it's a coaching issue.

Some things that need to change immediately

  • Side is currently 18th in the league for shots at goal. Bring in an external expert to remedy
  • Go through the list and identify the 5 flakiest players and drop/trade them immediately
  • Stop bringing in flakey players from other clubs. If a player isn't reliable then they don't get to come here. Particularly if they play in defence
  • We've been absolutely mauled in contested possessions, especially in the last 3 weeks. Put every player on notice that at worst they need to break even in contested possession with their direct opponent. This is non negotiable and if they don't they are out of the side the following week.
  • Drop the zone and get defenders playing 1 - 1 for the rest of the year. Identify who is performing and who isn't, and trade the latter.

I’d take a full scale rebuild over this shit. Realistically, are some of our players even fixable post Hinkley? Meek loser culture is all they’ve known.

Yeah, sheesh.

We were worried the survivors from 2007 would be irreparably damaged.

How do you fix 12 years of huggle-cuddle-scared of Showdowns/finals/the dark and literally any game of situational import?

Not for me.. flick the whole lot, everyone associated with this crap.
Thing is that’s not going to happen mid-season. We want Ken gone yesterday, so it’s a given that Josh will take over as interim for the remainder of this season. The issue then is that we want a proper external search for the new coach for next year, not just automatically slotting Josh into the position.

Does Eric Hipwood ever score against anyone else? I swear if you take games against us out of it he'd have been delisted years ago.
Yes, he kicked six against the Bulldogs.

I'll admit the Lions got kissed on the d*ck by the umpires today. But I suppose the silver lining for you all is that it might bring Hinkley one step closer to the exit door.

We’d still be better off without them long term to assume we wouldn’t is insane.

Both won’t play again after this year and considering this year is gone they might as well call it now

They're 33 and 35, there's no long term that involves them.

The point is that they aren't holding anything or anyone back. The cupboard is bare and things are going to get worse not better when these types of players go. Same with Wines, same with McKenzie (injured now but can someone tell me which, if any, of our defenders are actually better than him?).
