Please please please drop Schultz. I know he kicked the winning goal vs the Saints but that dropped mark in the F50 in the first quarter and then hitting the post from 35 out was unforgivable. I don’t care how big his heart is, give me a player that can take simple marks and kick straight over this plodder any day.

All in good time. Switta or Henry will be better but won’t be ready for a month.

Great win, very proud of Justin and all the boys.

Without getting on the "bash Ross" bus, I don't think he wiuld have held his nerve and kept a deep forward (particlarly Fyfe) in the last. That won us the game.

This is true but I have a feeling Fyfe was hampered by his previous hamstring injury.

Did you forget his two saints momentum killing tackles for holding the ball? He was easily bog and showed all the heart that helped them get the win. Tabs can miss four plumb goals but we don’t drop him why cause his tall?

Bloody hell I hope everyone realises what a monumental effort that was to come back. Clearly all big comebacks are going to take effort but to pull that off when you're flying home after 5 weeks away straight afterwards it wouldve been so easy to just roll over and go through the paces for the rest of that game thinking about how good your own bed is going to be. I've said before that I love how we approached the hub so professionally and it is showing signs of a great culture, well a win like that will galvanise this group and they should get a lot of belief out of that.

Brayshaw may never end up some excitement machine midfielder but bloody hell what he lacks in speed or pure athleticism he makes up for in cleanness around the contest, defensive pressure, leadership and just pure toughness. He was probably rightly criticised on here for some poor kicking last year and earlier this season but his kicking has been very good of late and he is definitely the type to know the flaws in his game and work extremely hard to fix them and i am and always have backed him in to become a very good player for us.

Also stuff midfield throw Fyfe in the goalsquare for the next 7-8 years and let him have another 100+ games of footy where he has 9 touches and kicks 4 goals a game, his body deserves the break. His contested marking aside the amount of free kicks fyfe would get one out in the square all day from the defender panicking.

At around the 7:50 mark they show behind the goals footage of the last goal.

What is interesting is how Fyfe stayed deep in the goal square even when S.Hill is winning the ball at half-back. We have stretched our forwards literally across the entire length of the ground.

Previously you would have seen the deepest forward by somewhere around the 50m arc, compressing all the other forwards in the 50m between half-back and half-forward. In short, we would have congested ourselves on the transition.

But with Fyfe in the goal square the other forwards weren’t pressed as high.

I don’t know if this was luck, design, or the unfortunate circumstance of Fyfe carrying an injury. But I like it.

There is some absolute gold on the Saints board but this is a true gem of uninhibited insanity

:drunk:
This is possibly the worst post by a Saints fan involving a game against us, and that’s truly saying something
But no expectations or pressure on the lad, right?
I’ve made this post earlier, but he was drafted with our 2nd pick in the 2019 draft, and in that equivalent position 10 and then 20 years earlier was Fyfe and Pav. Fyfe and Pav both managed their debuts in round 5, but Serong made his a week earlier. Serong to be better then Fyfe and Pav confirmed?

Yes he will be. The science is settle.😎

Its nice to see there are still debutant/rookie posters who care about the club and are articulate in the way they write.

Feels like the last few years everyone who signs up for Bigfooty still prefer pencils and erasers to pens and whiteout.

Ah the return of satire to this board. It's been a long while.

Yep. Darcy looked terrific. Honourable mention to Duman as having a close to breakout game as a late replacement. Was terrific in aerial contests.
Was immense. Feel he’s better on the medium/talls then the nippy smalls. Has the wing span and pace to keep up with Membrey, who kicked 3 cheap goals as result of others. Around the ground he did next to nothing

This was a full blown rage meltdown comment from me at quarter time, pleasantly surprised with how it aged

Unfortunately I read the match thread long after the game, and didn't realise when I stopped to write a pithy response to Plugger that I was the 8th person to do so, and about the 5th person after the game ended.

$53K for that game alone. Roughly $5K per disposal. 63% disposal efficiency = $8K for each that went in the vague direction of St Kilda’s goal. 😆
Didn’t Stephen Hill get more disposals on limited game time and in the same position, across half back?
Always felt Stephen’s best was in 2017/2018 then injured his groin. He was elite. Better then any winger and definitely Brad’s for that matyer
