Possible Early Trade - Krakour and Ceglar to Collingwood for Pick 25

ANDREW Krakouer's road back from jail to AFL football could end at Collingwood, with the Magpies understood to be entertaining a trade for the former Richmond small forward.
Krakouer, who was pre-listed by the Gold Coast Suns, could be traded to Collingwood, along with another Suns pre-listed player, ruckman John Ceglar, in exchange for the Magpies' first-round draft pick, selection 25.
Krakouer was jailed in Perth for 16 months over an assault but joined WAFL club Swan Districts upon his release, going on to win the Sandover Medal as that league's best-and-fairest player.
Ceglar, 19, is a 200-centimetre ruckman who played in the TAC Cup this year for Murray Bushrangers but was able to be pre-listed by the Gold Coast because he had been overlooked by all clubs in last year's national draft.
He was understood to have made rapid improvement this season as a mature player in the TAC Cup.

Mick and the Collingwood coaches have a history with recycled players. He is the best uncontracted player (not my words).

40 touches and 4 goals (including the winning goal) in WAFL GF sounds pretty good. If Leon goes he might be a good proposition. He must be about 26?

I would think West Coast or Freo would have higher draft picks that could trump this deal very easily. My understanding is West Coast is pretty keen and wouldn't find it hard to manage a pick better than 25.

I think he isa great fit in terms of the way we play and the imminent departure of Davis. Krakour & Dick running around half forward is dangerous. Can't see it getting done though.

Well that does sound likely but I have heard the Pies have Followed him all season in the WAFL

He'd be better off playing for SD than going to West Coast. He should be pushing for Fremantle if he wants to stay in WA.

Collingwood are a premiership threat, West Coast are a spoon threat, and the guy is 28. It makes no sense to play there.

If I were GC, I'd hold onto him. Reckon it would also benefit him to play alongside his cousin...will help him settle in.


His GF was obviously fantastic, but he was dominant all year. Definitely ready-made to step straight into a team.

Personally, I reckon he could be the perfect replacement for Leon Davis who's body is not going to hold up another 2 years.

Repordatly we are just not getting Krakour we are also getting Ceglar in the Deal and All Depends how Hine Rates Ceglar

Anyway was basically how when my little sister was in the kids hospital here in Perth, Andrew was a visitor for the kid in the bed across from her. Over heard Andrew and the boys dad talking about a meeting with Collingwood back then. I don't normally post the old oh my mates dog's half sister heard this and its 100% correct but just over heard it back in July, no idea what context this was said in just heard Krakouer and the dad mention the meeting with Collingwood.

If he does end up at the pies, maybe this is where Tarrant will be included.
