Analysis Post match - Pies top 4 (outright) with strong win over Giants

Does anybody know of a way that I can look at Robbo's likes & dislikes in the Tackle today?? Other than subscribing, that is.
There is usually a way around it, but I can't find it anymore.

Maybe someone with a subscription can take a screen shot of the relevant section?

Also not celebrating a poor performance, but James Stewart for the Giants was pretty underwhelming.

Scored a goal but only got a few touches and was going at 50%DE.

Definitely didn't 'prove' much.

Agree with this. I think he's been somewhat overrated this year, have watched him closely. I didn't buy into the collective media opinion that we have let a really good one slip. Same story for Kelly at Adelaide. Got to trust Hine..

Adams, Swan, Pendlebury, Williams, Broomhead, Cloke, White, Crisp, Varcoe, Brown, Oxley all very good.

Witts did his job against Mumford, still very weak around the ground in marking contests but was quite good in the hitouts.

Goldsack & Seedsman are so, so deplorable - both will be omissions heading over to Perth

Goldsack will not be omitted

Goldsack is effectively playing Reid's role in the backline.

If Reid pulls up in time for the trip to WA you'd think that'd be who he's replacing, but Goldy has played a pretty critical role for the most part this season and has played brilliantly at times so it'd be pretty harsh to omit him...

:thumbsu:

Witts was good and held his own against Mummy he also dominated the center hit-outs when up against Stewart in the last. As stated it would be great if he had the ability to cover the ground like Grundy yet first use via hit-out to advantage from the center square is worth it's weight in gold.

I'd like to see Witts do a 180 without falling over :drunk:

Besides it was clearly the injuries to key their blackmen that gave Collingwood the win o_O

Two weeks back, the Western Bulldogs pressured the Giants in a shambolic episode at Etihad. Yesterday, they succumbed to Collingwood and, it had to be said, injuries to key their blackmen Phil Davis and Joel Patfull. Still, Cloke’s dominance against Nick Haynes came on the back of Collingwood’s dominance all over the MCG.

I've barely posted in the past fortnight, outside of short bursts, due to exams and I was getting the feeling that I was becoming that way myself

Please read my very first post of this thread and get back to me re my pessimism. Challenging Witts to take his game from solid to great by providing an impact around the ground doesn't justify labels such as pessimistic and stubborn, IMV! Each to their own though.
Comrade Scodog10. You have been found guilty of pessimism speech and questioning the bigfooty regime. Your crime is serious and the people's court of political justice has no alternative but to sentence you to 10 years re-education. We are optimistic that you can be rehabilitated and look forward to seeing and hearing from you again in the future when your thinking has been corrected.

I told you the Media would Blame Injuries and give us no Credit on beating the Giants

Media thinks we are playing above ourselves

I just didn't know that you were allowed to carry a set of keys into a game or that Davis or Patfull are actually black. Reading that article they really have to stop outsourcing their editing to people with English as a language that scrape by in with the use of English for Dummies.

I think there's going to be another positive news story to come out of yesterday's match within the next 24 hours :thumbsu:

It's about time too, IMO.

I agree. Bucks should have been extended weeks ago.

Agreed, Dave.
I thought Kennedy was unlucky not to get a full game today - especially with Seedsman struggling of late.

I get depressed about Kennedy...great skills but just not big enough. Seedsman's been reading his own press releases, tries to do too much and ignores the simple straightforward options. More kudos needed for Broomy...some of his work in close was superb, quick hands and brain, Sidebottom Mark II, plus a cool, calm goal from a tricky angle in the first...may be a keeper...Goldsack like a headless chook at times, again trying to do too much. Mumford V Witts a non-event, Mumford looked tired and Witts clearly lacks confidence in his marking...GWS kicking for goal terrible. Marley (all day) and Crisp (2nd half) were great...imagine how they'd be if they could kick on the right leg...

Are you having a laugh?

No. Now, I watched the game live at the ground and haven't had the chance to see a replay, but what I recall of Tyson's game was:
- Stewart kicked a goal early on him, but from memory it was a pretty good kick that made it difficult for the defender to do anything.
- Stewart did SFA as a forward for the rest of the day. Think I'm right in saying that Goldsack stayed on him.
- He blocked a three or four forward thrusts, marking a couple and getting spoils in on others. He did a couple of those right in front of me and I thought them good efforts.

That's what I based my comment on. Maybe I missed something bad, particularly when play was at the far end from me. What's your basis for saying he was terrible? I've seen you and maybe one other saying he was bad, but moat people haven't mentioned it.

Can you honestly say you expected anything less from Robbo.

The next 4 games will be a great test for the club, hopefully all of Levi, Reid and Grundy will be fit and firing at some stage during this period placing pressure on spots in the side. Ramsay can hopefully return soon and there are a few of our kids gaining momentum at VFL level.

Looking OK for the future.:thumbsu:
