Nice melt

He gave you some good advice though.

North beat another lower ranked side last night. It just shows that your team, along with West Coast, really are flat track bullies and will just be an easy win for an actual contender in week 1 of the finals.

You have barely any decent youth coming through and your good players are all basically fossils now - enjoy it while it lasts.

Ah, the old "ignore the facts by painting the way in which they're presented as a melt."

Everyone needs something to make them feel they're better than they really are I guess. I'm glad it's working for you.

Please continue my psychoanalyis

Again, 2007 called and wants its insult back.
Happy to be of help. Shall we start with your propensity for deflection which illustrates an inability to admit error - something that would help you to grow as a man if you can overcome it? The stereotyping thing isn't helping in that area either is it? You know, when you claim a lack of English skills is typical of a particular supporter group rather than admit a mistake. Will you deflect from the spelling of psychanalysis too or would that make your testicles shrink? There's some things to work on. Same time next week?

A lot of what you note has validity.
If Bolton was our coach besides being earnest he'd be doing ok with the medium team, but he'd still be getting bagged out anyway.
Except this statement does not suit the facts.

If a Bolton-coached Collingwood put up the performance against Sydney that Carlton did today, do you honestly believe that Bolton would be getting bagged out here?

So it's fair to compare bolton's coaching during his interim hawthorn reign and his reign coaching Carlton?

Hawthorn's list is that far superior to Cartons list. The pro Buckley camp need to look at the comparison existentially: whatever Bolton has done this year he has improved on the previous year. That is an achievement.

This has not happened with Buckley yet after 5 attempts. The praise Bolton receives is valid.

A good hypothetical would be where would Collingwood be placed this year if Bolton was coach?

Martin has as much chance of winning the brownlow as I have getting my wife back. Your stats prove that neither have teams that have won sufficent games for a brownlow........just give it to Dangerfield now and save us the trouble of watching plastic women spinng on a disc all night

You're quite prepared to make excuses for Carlton's season based on the speculative measurement of expectations but incapable of seeing any other reason for Collingwood's average performance other than a simplistic "it's the coaches".

As for asking where we were expected to finish this year - around about where we are right now in fact. Or are you basing it on Collingwood supporter's expectations ?
No. The club stated several times pre season that finals were a bare minimum this year.

Not on the ground and how do we know what he does in Team Meetings?

My post was in reference to my observations of Pendles on the ground. I watched him closely on Friday night and he appears to favour a conciliatory approach when players stuff up. I would like to see him show a bit more passion sometimes.

Well we where expected to Make Finals and Blues where seen as a Team that be Lucky to win 3-4 Games
Only the extraordinarily optimistic would have expected us to play finals this year. I know that there are definitely a few of them out there but I think you'll find that outside of overexcited supporters, not many had us finishing in the top half.

Our forwards show no accountability which is annoying.

Even if the game isn't going your way offensively, at least have some regard to your opponent and don't let him run off you and impact the contest further up the ground.

So many token chases and tackles from the whole lot.

Whilst I think there are many other aspects they're overrated, that's where Puopolo and Rioli really excel.

Not too much on that, but inevitably medium teams put up medium performances.
Even against North, whilst many things were less than good, our fight back was ok, so some things good some not so good.
Ultimately doesn't matter much, only one team each year has true success.
The rest have dissapointments.

You are right actually.
Though I fell for the Treloar arriving, winning pre season games etc and over rating the list as it stands.
Be a long few years

Based on the fact that our performances have been ordinary for a few years and Rob Harvey is just as responsible as Buckley.

Since when is an assistant coach just as responsible as the head coach? Give me a break.

According to Pert we should have won our 16th flag by the end of this season.

So you think the assistant coach plays no part? You've got a lot to learn. Going from the midfield coach to senior assistant his role is not insignificant.

Thats not right. Some in the media had us top 4 and more importantly the footy club had us playing finals. So the expectation from within was very high. So now how do they assess the season? Injuries prevented us from playing finals? What's more damning is the way we have been playing. We play like a bottom 4 side. The fundamental errors, the players looking lost in the field, a game plan that leaks so many easy goals. The blowouts where we can't re-set to prevent others piling on goals. we have not improved at all over the past few years. In fact, we have been overtaken by clubs who were basket cases only a couple of years ago.

So what does it take to begin making the coaches accountable? We just keep going as we have been and wait until they have an injury free list for the season to determine whether they can coach?

I have been a big Buckley fan and supportive throughout the year. Unfortunately the time has come to face the reality that he is not a head coach.

I think you'll find that Buckley has primary control of coaching. The assistants may make suggestions but Buckley has the final say.

For sure. But if Harvey felt like he didn't have a voice, he would have walked. No use being the senior assistant coach if it's a token role. If he is being overruled on everything and has chosen to continue, then maybe he isn't strong enough for the role.

Anyway, I'm signing off this thread. No use going around in circles. The club needs to be accountable with HOW we are playing in the field. To sit back expecting things to change next year or the year after without big changes will set the club back for 5 years.

You are the absolute master of taking wild speculation and turning it into incontrovertible fact
