I must move in weird circles. the Collingwood supporters I know are relatively normal, and admire Hawthorn a lot.

Even when I read their forums, I don't hear that mad teeth-gnashing saltiness you get from Geelong or *

That's all I have ever got. Never once met a rational * or $wines fan.

It helps when there's no salary cap in MLB. In 2015 the Yankees spent $221M, Braves (my team) $111M, Marlins $63M.
In 2013 the Yankees spent $241M, the Astros spent $20M.

Yes, the most amazing part of the figures is the fact that the Yankees have reduced their spending in the last 2-3 years.

They've traditionally spent whatever they want on whomever they want!

I'm hearing a lot of whingeing about how terrible it would be if Hawthorn won the flag again, because it would be boring, and some other club should have a go  But it's not as if Hawthorn are denying any particular club, the only clubs that should feel robbed by Hawthorn would be Fremantle and Geelong, as both would've had substantially better eras without us.

The fact that Fremantle winning a single flag would indisputably qualify as their greatest era ever is kind of funny.

If anything we've been doing the universe a service by preventing a Ross Lyon premiership.
