Why would you say you don't care about this year and then ask us to rate your team? That's all kinds of douchebaggery.

Anyway I do care so here's my side:

Goddard, Gibbs, Grimes, Broughton, McGrath, Heppell, Lower (Duigan, Puopolo, Stanley)

Swan, J Selwood, A Swallow, Boak, Jetta, Hibberd (Harris, Bewick, Lock)

Buddy, SJ, Goodes, Reiwoldt, Knights, Krak, Richardson (Petrie, Darling, Matera)

Cox, Sandilands (Bailey, Derickx)

48 K left over

Thoughts plz?

And if I go Boak down to Vince and McGrath to Deledio I have exactly $0.00 left hahaha!

Ha, not the worst thing I've ever been called in my life.

Some interesting uniques there in the mids but apart from that, stock standard.

Alrighty, here we go, nearly done!

Goddard, Gibbs, Lids, Broughton, Grimes, Otten, Duigan (Lower, Coad, Stanley)

Swan, Boyd, Montagna, Swallow, Harris,Atley (Heppel, Bewick, Pittard)

Cox, Sandi (Smith, Keefe)

Buddy, Goodes, SJ, Roo, Pav, Krak, Gamble (Matera, Darling, Richardson)

What we think? A few notes:

Going for league so multi bye does not phase me

Going short into the midfield because there are always a heap of premium options to pick from at any given time, other posi's harder to fill, so may as well load up early.

DPP - Have thought long and hard about it, and for me personally, it's a waste trying to force guys in just for the sake of it (ie Isaac Smith with a Prestia..) What does it actually achieve? I don't care about multi-bye weeks, so in the end all im going to have to cover is 1 premium per position cos i havent doubled up on any team in one spot, so my bench can cover anyhow.. If Mzunga wasn't broken and callinan as well, i would have had them both and that would be fine, but they aren't, so im not going to force someone into my mids when the chances are, i wont even use it.

Example:

No, wait, i cant even think of one in my team. Goodes and Pav don't miss games for me, and they are my DPP in the fwd line. Krak? ok, i cover him with someone from my bench, why would i need to swap him with Smith in the mids to cover him, that would only be needed if my whole fwd bench was out etc.

Anyone got any way to convince me otherwise?

Adcock. No

Dal Santo no. you're going to get mullered in round 5.

Rucks. no cover for byes.

DPP links?

Adcock is a reasonable pick, good return for a bit of risk. I don't have him but I see why many do.

What's wrong with DalSanto as a unique?

He's going for a league win so round 5 is irrelevant.

Ruck comment fair enough.

DPP not needed if you have cover anyway.

If you're going for league win, don't have any North, Geelong, Carlton, Essendon premiums. They all have a bye each in the rounds where league playoffs occur.

Gibbs->Deledio
SJ-> Didak/Sylvia/Gia

People's thoughts on my team? Aimed at league win.

B: Goddard, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Otten, Duigan, Lower. Coad, Stanley, Hibberd
M: Swan, Boyd, Montagna, Pendlebury, Foley, Atley. Bewick, Irons, Harris
R: Sandi, Cox. Smith, McCauley
F: Franklin, Didak, Sylvia, Goodes, N Riewoldt, A Krakouer, Richardson. Prestia, Darling, Matera

Main concerns are my rookie backs. Coad/Hibberd/Stanley?
Also no David Swallow.

So 15 premium keepers. 7 premium upgrades to make in 24 trades.

Good side, very similar to mine, gone for an extra mid pricer in the forwards to give me greater coverage through each position.

Adcock is a reasonable pick, good return for a bit of risk. I don't have him but I see why many do.

adcock is a terrible pick. minimal chance of being a keeper, massive durability problem uncertain scoring output. you won't see any of the best performers going for a mid pricer like that - he ain't that cheap either, for not enough upside.

What's wrong with DalSanto as a unique?

He's going for a league win so round 5 is irrelevant.

Dal Santo will never be one of the top 6-8 in his position, even if you believe the league win nonsense is all that matters.

DPP not needed if you have cover anyway.

DPP = more cover. and this season we're all going to need as much cover as we can get.

Adcock has had a good preseason, is a guaranteed best 18 player every week and has had good scoring seasons in the past. The only issue is his past injury history, but all indicators say he is over them.

Even if you don't pick him, he is worth the consideration. Putting a cross straight through him probably just shows you shouldn't be giving advice.

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Lower, (stanley, Duigan, Puopolo)
Mids: Swan, Boyd, Bartel, Swallow A, Harris, Heppel (Hibberd, I Smith, Beams)
Ruck: Cox, Sandilands (Smith, Derickx)
Fwds: Chapman, Franklin, Goodes, Rieiwoldt, Knights, Krakouer, Richardson, (Matera, Mckernan, Darling)

Need to confirm the rookies and possibly dump Sandi to save some cash.
Thoughts - I am going for leauge win so the finals buy are an issue - but you have to make the finals first.

Pendles and Swan in the same team will miss 4 games if you are going for league win.

Not sure why you'd have Petrie as ruck bench. Move Petrie to your forwards for Dixon, and pick up J. Tippett in the rucks. Use DP when needed.

If you're going for a league win, 2 Geelong premiums is excessive. Come finals time, trades will be scarce, and your bench players rarely score well enough to cover the premiums.

Looks good, my main queries would be.

Are you going to regularly get enough out of your last 3 backline players? When one of your premiums is not playing, you are relying on Astubury Heppell and co and they pull out 120 between them, you are going to be in for an average score.

Mids look solid, but do you have Goodes starting midfield in round 1 purely for covering the GC bye or do you plan on having him there all year? I would prefer him in the forward line over Sylvia at this stage. Would only have one of Foley and Ward, probably Foley as you already have Boyd.

Rucks are obviously the best starting combo but Petrie is too much coin to have sitting on the wood, even if he provides you with safe cover I still think it is a waste.

Forwards, pretty standard really. Not a fan of Sylvia and I think I would rather have another gun in there instead of Fyfe. Don't think he is going to be pumping out big enough scores on a regular basis to be a starting 4 in your forward line. Similar to Astbury in your backline.

Very strong team though.

Backs:B.Goddard, B.Gibbs, D.Connors, C.Enright, J.Drummond, A.Otten, D.Heppell (N.Lower, N.Duigan, P.Puopolo)

Forwards:L.Franklin, A.Didak, M.Pavlich, J.Riewoldt, M.Hurley, D.Petrie, R.Gamble (T.Lynch, B.Sumner, J.Darling)

$35k in the bank, wondering if anyone had any thoughts. I'm pretty confident although I'm thinking I have too much money in my rucks, however, i can't see it causing problems.

B: Goddard – Lake – Gibbs – E. Wood – Otten – Heppell – Duigan
(emg: Toy, K. Hunt, Puopolo)

Fwds: Franklin – N. Riewoldt – Gia – Higgins – L. Davis – Rioli – Krakouer

Overall a strong side with a lot of potential for big scores but I fail to see the logic behind Hunt. Also going to struggle when doggies have the bye in my opinion...

Thanks for the feedback, also from Dee64. I was still tossing up with what to do with Petrie, I just know I wanted him in somewhere. I've moved him to the forward line in place of Dixon and put Keefe in the rucks (I don't see J Tippet getting much of a run). I got rid of Astbury and put in Adcock. Then dumped Ward from the mids and added Irons. I then got rid of Fyfe and put in Higgins. I've got 45k in the bank now and that may be used to replace Irons.

Ok, despite intending to put a lot of thought into this years side, work has rudely intervened...

B: Goddard, Scotland, Broughton, Waters, Wojcinski, Wood, Otten - Duigan, Lower, Hibbard
M: Swan, Selwood, Gibbs, Pavlich, Krakour, Heppell - Conca, Harris, Liberatore
R: Sandilands, Hampson - J Tippett, Bathie
F: Franklin, Didak, Goodes, Reiwoldt, Jurrah, Petrie, Talia - Matera, Richardson, Darling

I'm worried about Waters and Wojcinski in defence, although there possibly a few other odd selections included... Thoughts appreciated.

Oh and I've got 122K in the bank...

B - Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Stanley, Lower (Duigan, Heppell, Coad)

M - Swan, Selwood, Mitchell, Boak, Foley, Swallow (Hibberd, Bewick, Harris)

R - Cox, Jolly (Smith, Tippett)

F - Franklin, Sylvia, Goodes, Riewoldt, Petrie, Krakeour, Richardson, (Darling, Tapscott, Matera)

$32,600 in the bank.

I would love to fit Chris Knights/Fyfe into my forward line somehow, I feel it's a llittle thin... but I need Petrie there combining with Tippett for ruck cover.

I would love to turn Boak/Mitchell into Montagna, but I feel like Mitchell should really go under the radar with Hawthorn healthy and Boak is a bit unique and is at that nice price point!

Someone give me some opinions please! :)

Hey guys i'd appreciate some feedback. I'm sure there are a few obvious mistakes i've made but any help would be great.

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Gilbert, Deledio, Grimes, Greenwood, Otten
(Heppel, Coad, Toy)

Mids: Swan, Boyd, Bartel, Shuey, McLean, Harris
(Swallow, Iles, Smith)

Rucks: Cox, Goldstein
(Smith, Moran)

FWDS: Sylvia, Harvey, Pavlich, Knights, Petrie, A.Krakouer, Darling
(Mzungu, Richardson, Matera)

29,000 left.

I know Petrie is suspended and that Greenwood is injured.

Cheers folks.

I don't have to much time mate, but a couple of quick ones - Mzungu is out till midyear, Gilbert is playing in the forward line and that will probably affect his scores big time. Otten has also been pegged as a sub.

I like your uniques of Harvey, Goldstein and possibly McClean. I'm not sure on Shuey, depends on his starting price.

Minus a few glaring mistakes, your team is interesting and different :)
