Not a bad start but I can see alot of improvements that could be made.

Backs: You seem to be lacking 1 premium back eg: Goddard/Gilbee etc starting S.Buckley, Meyers, Houlihan, Rains in the one backline is a little risky. Out of those 4 I would keep Houlihan + Rains. I would also look at getting rid of Enright, for his price he just isn't consistant enough in SC.

Mids: I think there are better options then Mitchell (someone like Pendlebury for mine would be a better choice) but that is just personal taste. As for Cousins...he could be a good point of difference, but I think there is a reason why so few coaches will pick him up....for his price (should be cheaper) the upside balanced out with the likelyhood of serious injury doesn't weigh well. Judd and J.Selwood are locks for me and Rich a Masten are also good picks.

Rucks: Cox is the first player I pick every year, dunno about Minson though...I think most coaches will opt for Ottens/H.McIntosh for that price range.

Forwards: Dunno about A.Davey....I considered him but I just think he'll be to inconsistant, I'd also get rid of Headland. I would also be worried that Watts won't get to many games this year as big guys won't develop as quick as your Gamble's or Riolli's of last year.

nice team!!

The only real comment I could make is that the defence looks stacked! downgrade one of your premo defenders to say Adcock or someone around that price tag and upgrade maybe Foley into a gun....just seems the mids lack that one star to go with Judd and Pendles....looks like a soild team though :thumbsu:

Not bad, I'd avoid Macguire in Supercoach though, and Rusling is a very risky pick with his injury concerns. Take Criad out as well, he'll be lucky to be fit for round 1. The rest of the team looks pretty decent. Maybe look at someone like an Alex Rance for the extra backman- you realistically want one of your backs to be dirt cheap and Rance is a running backman- perfect for SC if he gets a run. I'd have Stephen Hill in the backline somewhere. Just some thoughts. Completely up to you though!:thumbsu:

Your backs are fine- the only one that stands out is Grima and to an extent Shaw (but he is a cash cow- can be really poor). How much cash do you have? As good as Skipworth is he probably is not the BEST solution to SC- you could "downgrade" him to say a Tom Swift, and then pick a more expensive back instead of Grima. But apart from that, your side looks good.

Have a think about Reiwolt though- like Ablett is ridiculously expensive but is probably worth it.

Thanks for all that mate, I'm a sucker for other people's thoughts and I tend to agree with them in hindsight.

I wasn't happy with my midfield despite the money spent and I didn't know about Black being out. Anyway, I've made some massive changes so I want to leave it alone for a while. The changes are:

Backs:
Out: Ellis, Waters, Bartram, Thursfield, Henderson,
In: Mackie, McPhee, Raines, Petterd, Hill.

McPhee is my roughy. I know there's a lot of detractors, even from Essendon fans, but I always get the feeling he might score well at times.

Midfield:
Out: Black, Mitchell, Griffen, McKenzie.
In: Bartel, Judd, Van Berlo, Jack.

Rucks:
Out: Cordy.
In: Currie.

Forwards:
Out: Fevola.
In: Veszpremi.

Most of my extra cash came from the forwardline swap. I was uncomfortable with Fevola and I was really impressed with Veszpremi last year.

Going to leave it for a while now, don't want to stuff around too much until I see a few more pre-seas games and see the teams for round one. Sidebum I am worried about.

I'm liking the changes you've made, though I'm not all that sure about McPhee. I had him in initially but he's since been moved on as I think his high scoring days are over, and he'll be used as a swing man this year leading to inconsistent scores.
Hopefully I can sit on my team for a while without any changes being needed. Best of luck mate.

First off, I'd move Skipworth into the forward line.
Move Rich onto the ground and pick up another bench player.
Corey is over-priced IMO, and there are a few better cheaper options to be found.
Reid on the bench is a no-no for me. Too expensive and will be playing down back this season. Downgrade him to a rookie.
Bring Malceski into your backline.
Swap someone like Kerr for Haselby in your mids.
Use that money to fix you backline and forward line.

I think Grima has done an ACL. I might be wrong but i think heard that recently.

Be as harsh as necessary with your criticism :p

Firstly good team and I'll try my best in giving some constructive criticism. Starting with the defence, it looks one or two premiums short, which sort of throws off that balance as I see you have Hill who is a rookie. Midfield looking strong, maybe too strong. Instead of stocking up with players around 550k perhaps go for a slightly cheaper option eg Kerr, Foley. The ruck department looks a little weak as you don't have Cox, yet still have Leuenberger. Maybe swap Leunenberger for Ottens or Mcintosh. The forward line doesn't look bad. High scoring setup and 2 rookies, but think about getting Boomer for Roo.

But overall, decent team :thumbsu:

Backs: Wheatley is getting on a bit, and I think there are better options available. Chris Johnson isn't definitely in Carltons best 22 so I'd be a little wary. Myers is also over-priced IMO.
Mids: The talk regarding Sidebum has died down a little lately, so I'd be re-thinking his selection. Some big risks with Kerr, Coughlan, Rich and Sidebum in there.
Rucks: Vickery won't play much, so at his price it's a bit of a waste.
Forwards: Harvey is over-priced for mine. Riewoldt is currently injured IIRC. So is Ballantyne I think.

Knights for the price he is, is way too much of a gamble, he has been up and down like a yo-yo for a few years now. Who would I pick- I think you should have Deledio or Cotchin in your side somewhere and Cotchin at his price would be a pretty safe bet. Check the Freo board on Suban about whether he will play- if not Rhys O'Keefe is the same price and will get games for Carlton

Cotchin is injured, far from a safe bet.

Any idea on the backs I should pick? I really hate "wasting" big money on backs but I did have this issue last year as well so I guess you are right. Any idea on players? As for the mids, yep I have stocked up, but I have taken Rich and Swift in there as well. Cox is an interesting one and one I am tossing up at the moment. In the end I had to decide whether to go for Hille and pick up Brown as a forward, or pick up Cox and a cheaper forward, in the end I chose Brown. I made the mistake of not getting Reiwolt last year and I am sceptical of not doing it again. I am considering Steve Johnson for this one though. This really is a "first draft":thumbsu:

Cotchin is injured, far from a safe bet.

He is one "injured player" I may take a risk in taking. You have to look long term a bit. So long as your top 6 mids are all playing and are high scoring you won't need emergencies anyway. Having Cotchi to come in after a month is not the worst idea. I did it last year and reaped the rewards.

G'Day. This is my first post on the BigFooty forum, been an avid reader for around two years though, thought i'd get amongst the fun :). Just thought i would post my team and see what some people thought of it...

Backs: Goddard, Gilbee, Cornes, Bock, Malceski, Raines, S. Hill (Kite, Pearce)

Mids: Judd, Dal Santo, J. McVeigh, Gibbs, Ward, Rich (Swift, Robinson)

Rucks: Cox, Jolly (White, Currie)

Forwards: Deledio, Chapman, Richardson, Giansiracusa, Lucas, Higgins, Sidebottom (Ziebiel, Gumbleton)

I think all four of the areas are pretty strong, with some gambles in Ward, Raines etc. I know i might be a tiny bit biased because i go for the Bulldogs but i do think Ward belongs in the best 22. If they are healthy though their prices should increase a fair bit, just have to keep an eye on the remaining NAB Cup and practice games and see how they do. Its still five weeks until the season starts so im sure it will change before then, but criticism/praise welcome :) haha

Fine if you're going for a league win, but overall that will hurt you massively.

Hey guys any thoughts on my team? Would be kindly appreciated thanks

WOW that is one of the better sides I've seen on BF. Only worry would be having Richo and Chapman in the one forward line. Both can score big but would probably only have one (Richo) and someone else instead of Chapman.

I took out Chapman, Giansiracusa and Sidebottom (was an emergency) and got Pavlich, Steve Johnson and Gumbleton (as a reserve)

My team pretty much changes every day though lol. But thanks for your advice, the mo the merrier :D
