Petterd is ever changing for me, has been in and out of my side several times. At the moment, he's in. Without his injury last year he could have shown glimpses. And doesn't have heaps of competition being at Melbourne. Surjan and Osborne are a bit risky because Surjan has to compete with players like McLeod (while he's getting old, he'll still rack in the points) and Osborne has to compete with Williams, Rioli, Brown etc.

Petterd is worth a shot, but Surjan and Osborne are a risk. For Surjan, Ryan Cook will score more simply because he'll be in the midfield and he's $4k less. But there's a few worth punting on for a bit more: David Myers, Paul Bevan, Nick Malceski and Simon Buckley who have less competition than those players.

Whats your thoughts? Not sure about Higgins, Pettifer and Ellis. Has Ellis got an injury?

Haven't heard about an Ellis injury. Solid backline, however Pears being a starter is a bit of a risk, an upgrade, or a swap might be in order, only due to him probably not guaranteed 18-22 games required for a starter, otherwise good. However do keep an eye on Heath Shaw in the NAB Cup, just to see how Mick plays him, if he's playing that defenders role and not given an opportunity in the midfield, pass on him.

For the midfield, I would probably downgrade Corey and upgrade Watson or Reilly. You can find players who score just as highly as Corey for $50k less. Someone like a Kane Cornes or Sam Mitchell or Dane Swan. That way your midfield is a bit more balanced, and Corey's pricetag is bound to come down early on I would say. Particulary playing Hawthorn, most Geelong players will come down in price if they have an "off day" there.

Cox is the obvious choice, well done. I probably wouldn't have Nata and Cordy only because they'll play limited game time, and Cox and McIntosh should get you through. You could downgrade them to lesser ruckman to upgrade other players.

Forward line looks pretty good, beware of Higgins, Stokes and Pettifer, inconsistency could be a problem and they may drop a bit in price early. Franklin is under an injury cloud at the moment so be aware of that. Other than that it looks good.

You seem to be a couple of players short in the ruck division as well. NicNat is injured and the extra 75k in making him into a cheaper rookie like Currie would be handy. I don't think you can start both Kruezer and Burger, try and elevate one of them to at least a Ottens/McIntosh/Simmonds class of ruckman. Get the rest of the cash by downgrading one of the guns in that loaded foward line (probably Chapman as I don't trust his body to get him through the year).

The two rookies and Coughlan starting in the middle is worrying as well (particularly a NM rookie).

I actually like your backline, plenty of value players. As long as they are all playing (Hurley/Hansen in particular) then that is a nice group for their prices.

Star studded midfield. Would downgrade Cousins or Kerr to a Hasleby or Coughlan, then get Macintosh.
