Post Your Team (Part 2)

Here we go; nothing exciting as it's hard to avoid other peoples teams reading this thread!

DEF: Deledio, Birchall, Adcock, Broughton, Hargrave, Ellis, Bugg (Darley, Morris)

MID: Pendlebury, Boyd, Ablett, Thompson, Coniglio, Clifton (Stevens, Magner)

RCK: Cox, Giles (Redden, Stephenson)

FWD: Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Martin, Sidebottom, D.Smith, Pfeiffer (Cameron, A.Hall)

Downgraded to Adcock & Broughton to update my forward line to more premium MID/FWD's. More midfield players = more points? As always, rookies will be under scrutiny until Rd.1.

Opinions are always appreciated!

You should adopt a no-Crow policy MannumPower! I like your team but I reckon you might have been sucked in by a few good performances on the weekend.

haha you know ur probably right there, vince burnt me last year, was always going to have porpy if he made it through the ps, callianan i wish was just a bit cheaper, still got time for these boys to get injured so i don't have to pick them

Atm my team looks like this

Defense
Goddard, Shaw, Deledio, Waters, Hargrave, Ellis, Darley (Morris, Bugg)

Midfield
Pendles, Boyd, Ablett, Mitchell, Miles, Mcdonald (Magner, Kerridge)

Rucks
Cox, Giles (Stephenson, Redden)

Forwards
Chapman, Franklin, Goodes, Martin, Dangerfield, D Smith, Saad (Pfeiffer, Dickson)
Have 154,900 left over so plenty to make some changes

Any thoughts would be appreciated even criticism :thumbsu:

Swan in only 4 of the last 20 teams posted. Unheard of...

Whats everyone's thought process behind this? Overpriced or due to drop? Brownlow let down?? I heard he asked to be taken out of the leadership group which i dont think ive heard of happening before.

A bit of everything, i think he is a tad over priced, there is better value in Ablett and Pendlebury and Boyd for mine. He took it really light in the Nab Cup, i just believe Pendles will surpass him scoring wise this season.

Now really i have 2 team options.

Team 1.

B: Goddard, Deledio, Shaw, Broughton, Malceski, Clarke, Ellis (Bugg, Morris)

M: Ablett, Boyd, Pendlebury, Watson, Masten, Shiel (Magner, Couch)

R: Mumford, Giles (Redden, Stephenson)

F: Franklin, Martin, Fyfe, Sidebottom, Dangerfield, Smith, Saad (Dickson, Hall)

OR.

Team 2.

B: Birchall, Deledio, Shaw, Broughton, Malceski, Golby, Ellis (Bugg, Morris)

M: Ablett, Murphy, Pendlebury, Watson, J.Caddy, Shiel (Magner, Couch)

R: Mumford, Giles (Redden, Stephenson)

F: Franklin, Martin, Fyfe, Sidebottom, Dangerfield, Smith, Saad (Dickson, Hall)

Criticism, and opinions please.

I know! I've noticed this too, not sure why, he did nothing last pre season either.
He's still the 2nd most popular mid overall though.

I can't settle on a side so here we go again...

B: Scotland (CAR) Goddard (STK) Carrazzo (CAR) Delidio (RICH) Hargrave (WB) Clarke (COLL) Ellis (RICH) Bugg (GWS) King Wilson (FREO)

M: Ablett (GC) Murphy (CARL) Hayes (STK) Dangerfield (ADE) Caddy (GC) Kennedy (GWS) Smith (GWS) Miles (GWS)

R: Kruizer (CAR) Giles (GWS) Redden (PORT) Stephenson (GEE)

F: Johnson (GEE) Chapman (GEE) Franklin (HAW) Goodes (SYD) Fyfe (FREO) Riewoldt (RICH) Pfeiffer (PORT) Couch (MEL) Lynch (NTH)

Feedback please, would be great, cheers.

I think he is looking to peak later in the season and a lot of DTers are taking the chance of having him as an upgrade and hoping to get him cheaper and not burn too many points. I am taking that risk with him and Pendles which could hurt a lot but I am going for league.

Solid team but I'm not sold on Roo. Definite value but will Saints be any good this year and will he get ample opportunity?

I have been looking at players like Roo, even Pavlich (and Brown before injury) and it feels like a changing of the DT guard, which I know happens a lot but Brown, Goodes, Roo, Pavlich, big names that are now not on many radars.

Here's my latest:

B: Scotland, Goddard, Deledio, Clarke, Ellis, Mohr, Bugg (Darley, Morris)
M: Pendlebury, Ablett, Selwood, Thompson, Cotchin, Coniglio (MacDonald, Magner)
R: Leuenberger, Mumford (Giles, Redden)
F: Franklin, Fyfe, Martin, Dangerfield, Porplyzia, D.Smith, A.Saad (Smedts, Zorko/Pfieffer?)

Have 82k left.

Still debating whether I should hang onto it or use it to upgrade Cotchin to Gibbs, Thompson to Boyd or Dangerfield to another premium.

My other picks are all rookies or Porplyzia. So I can't really use it to upgrade any to decent midpricers due to the lack of options. Even if I downgrade Coniglio to give me 150k it wont be enough to turn Porplyzia into a premium.

Are those premium midfielders who you want in your team come the end of the season? They are all quality, but I think if you are considering upgrading Cotchin or Thompson now, maybe you will want to later and will be using trades that you could avoid if you picked the premiums you wanted come seasons end now?

Just my 2 cents.

I like Thompson because with two games vs Port, GWS and GC there will be a fair bit of minnow bashing going on. Pendlebury and Ablett select themselves and I think Selwood will be top 5-10.

I'm thinking Cotchin will average 100-110 depending on how much he can improve his tackle count. I just think that's good value but am undecided on whether he can justify keeping out one of Swan/Boyd.

Okie dokie. Well....i've said it before, but i'll say it again, and i think this time it's likely to stick because there are no more games left before the season. Obviously rookies may change BUT, i think this is my side to start the year..

Backs: Carrazzo, Goddard, Shaw, Deledio, Broughton, Hargrave, Ellis (Smedts, Morris)

Mids: Swan, Murphy, Thompson, Ablett, Clifton, C. Smith (McDonald, Magner)

Rucks: Hale, Kreuzer (Giles, Stephenson)

Forwards: Franklin, Fyfe, Sidebottom, Martin, Cripps, D. Smith, Dickson (Dell'Olio, Couch)

I've gone in a bit back heavy, but I like what they have to offer. I was toying with fitting Boyd in the mids at the expense of a premium and midpricer but unsure of that strategy.
Thoughts?

Im thinking of trading Goddard for Broughton to free up some cash for some better rookies and to upgrade McEvoy to Mumford. Is Goddard really a 'must have'?

Goddard, Shaw, Deledio, Birchall, Waters, Hargrave, Ellis (Bugg, Tynan)

Pendlebury, Ablett, Rockliff, Selwood, Masten, Miles (McDonald, Magner)

McEvoy, Giles (Redden, Stephensen)

Franklin, Fyfe, Cloke, Martin, Porplyzia, Smith, Kerridge (McIntyre, Couch)

Ive gone without goddard at the start this year. My reasoning is i expect st kilda to have a slow start to the year so holefully goddard does too. Its a risk and he's such a good player he may start well even if the saints dont, but my team structure looks a lot better without him there so i think the risk is worth it.

Good to see I'm not the only one considering not starting with Goddard. The ruck structure is giving me a headache at the moment... gah!

Heres what i think is my final team, still mulling over the R2 and M6 positions, i might downgrade coniglio to mcdonald and upgrade maric to hale.

Deledio, birchall, broughton, waters, lake, bugg, morris (ellis, darley)

Pendlebury, ablett, mitchell, watson, palmer, coniglio (kerridge, magner)

S.jacobs, i.Maric (giles, stephenson)

Franklin, fyfe, martin, sidebottom, dangerfield, smith, kennedy (dickson, couch)

Any comments are appreciated!

I'm thinking of not going Goddard, but that's because I'm going for League win.

Saints play GC, Port and WB in first 3 rounds, which aren't included in League games.
They then play Melb, Freo, Hawthorn, Carlton, West Coast and Sydney - pretty tough streak, so will try get him after that.

Critique it
