My team is set. I am finally 100% with it.

Backs: Broughton, Shaw, Deledio, Goddard, Hargrave, Ellis, Paine (Bugg, Morris)

Mids: Thompson, Ablett, Swan, Murphy, McDonald, Magner (Shiel, C. Smith)

Rucks: Hale, Kreuzer (Giles, Stephenson)

Forwards: S. Johnson, Franklin, Fyfe, Sidebottom, Martin, D. Smith, Dickson (Couch, A. Kennedy)

I am aware Couch is yet to be elevated but i'm fine with that, I'm using him as a loophole this week as Kennedy is my emergency. I have squeezed every last cent out of this side, I have just $1,700 left. I'm also happy with the risk of having the 2 mid-price rucks, saves me coin without having to start a rookie.
Thoughts?

It's mostly because that's all I can afford and I'm not restructuring my team to upgrade one rookie that won't play week 1.

And as above said, Paine is a defender for me.

I think the second is the better option as it has better structure but if you cut Carrazzo for a Lake/Golby/Hargrave type you can beef up that forward line a little

There are even more defenders. Without looking at prices i would pick all these players ahead of Paine before teams are released.

I reckon Paine will average about 40-45 at best. Historically young key forwards in their first year with his type of pedigree are around that. For example Dawes played 6 games and averaged 44 in his first year. Cloke played 15 and averaged 47.

Get my drift ?

Good team. I don't think Morris will play though. You should get Ellis instead. Pfeiffer is a dud IMO and shouldn't get many games, if any at all. Sidebottom is a risky pick that might (not) work out.
