itsduffy, probably lose Stevens. Gonna be the sub option for us a lot, I think.

Hargave or Lake, either look good atm but personally I'm leaning towards Lake. Higher ceiling.

Otherwise, I like it (Y)

Thoughts lads? Tweaked my structure a bit. Goddard and Zaha had to go, for Birchall and Lewis respectively. I really wanted to squeeze Masten in, so I did.

Backs: Birchall, Shaw, Deledio, Duffield, Lake, B Ellis, Smedts, (Bugg, L Brown)
Mids: Pendles, G Ablett, Rockliff, Boyd, Masten, J McDonald, (C Smith, Magner)
Rucks: McEvoy, Giles, (Redden, Stephenson)
Forwards: Franklin, Fyfe, Sidebottom, Porplyzia, Lewis, Martin, Treolar (Kerridge, Couch)

Rookies are subject to change, I know Treoloar & Magner have injuries.

Any reason why Goddard had to go? He's the only defender other than Scotland with the capacity to average 100+

  • The structure seems good, although I won't do a bye analysis.
  • Goddard is too expensive and is in average NAB form. Good work on dropping.
  • Picking Masten takes courage. Could very easily pay off.
  • Hargrave > Lake IMO
  • L Brown hasn't played since NAB1, I'm wary.
  • Consider Anthony Miles (GWS) as a Magner replacement.

Overall, excellent team IMO.

Handy to have 106K in the bank. Looks like a sound team if I was taking a punt I'd only choose one of the St Kilda mids. Why not have one of the Geelong premium players instead of Montagna? Surely it would add about 20 or so points per game to your score?

Changed it quite a bit

Def- Goddard, Shaw, Birchall, Ellis, Heppell, Lake, Hargrave(Bugg, Darley)
Mid- Ablett, Swan, Boyd, Watson, Clifton, Miles(Smith, McDonald)
Ruck- Sandilands, Giles(Orren, Redden)
Forwards- Franklin, Goodes, Martin, Fyfe, Dangerfield, Smith, Hampton(Kerridge, Couch)

My first year at this DT time waster, so if you do have any comments, be kind to this newbie. Of course, any comments or criticism more than welcome, as there's probably a howler or two in here I'll hopefully iron out before Rd. 1.

DEF: Suckling, Broughton, Waters
Conca, Davis, Smedts
Bugg
(Darley, Morris)

MID: Swan, Pendlebury
Ablett (VC), Martin, Sloane
Smith, C.
(Magner, Cunningham)

RCK: Cox, Giles
(Redden, Stephenson)

FWD: Franklin, Goodes (C), Fyfe
Lewis, Sidebottom, Rohan
Walsh
(Skinner, Kerridge)

Seems to me like a decent team - a mix of established names and bolters. Expecting Sloane and Conca to have a big years, and Rohan to have a massive one. Possible Swans bias in the picks (Walsh, for example) which I probably need to get past.

Backline seems like the big problem - Davis, well, I'm not so sure, but seems like a good price and a solid investment. Possible over-reliance on GWS for cheap picks, but don't think I'm alone in this.

Looks like a decent team, however I suggest you keep players like Martin in your forward line.
I reckon you need another good premium in your backline such as Goddard or Scotland.

D: Goddard, Shaw, Broughton, Lake, Hargrave, Ellis, Darley
(Smedts, Bugg)

M: Swan, Boyd, Ablett, Clifton, Miles, Stevens
(C.Smith, Magner)

R: Cox, McIntosh
(Giles, Redden)

F: Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Pavlich, Martin, Dangerfield, D,Smith
(Treloar, Kerridge)

Any feedback greatly appreciated, $177,200 cash left over.

OK I've completely fiddled with my team, thanks to some suggestions :p another critique would be greatly appreciated...Rookies subject to round 1 shenanigans :D

Backs: H Scotland - B Goddard - G Broughton - D Heppell - M Clarke - B Ellis - T Mohr......SUBS: B Smedts - T Bugg

Mids: S Pendlebery (VC) - M Boyd - G Ablett (C) - A Carrazzo - P Dangerfield - C Masten ......SUBS: J Stringer - A Miles

Rucks: D Cox - J Giles....SUBS: J Redden - O Stephensen

Forwards: P Chapman - L Franklin - N Fyfe - D Martin - J Porplyzia - D Pfeiffer - A Treloar.....SUBS: S Kerridge - T Couch

Amount left: $1800 (shut up I know there's no money in the bank, I'm a woman, it's just what we do!)

My iffy's are Masten and Heppell. Masten because he's a bit of a risk (but as a 5th year player its time for him to either put up some good numbers or be a coulda-been...plus he's hot, so there!). Heppell, because I don't know if his numbers are going to rise enough from last year to make his price worth while...

B - Carrazzo, H Shaw, Suckling, Duffield, Hargrave, B Ellis, Darley (Bugg, S Morris)

R - Cox, Giles (Rowe, Stephensen)

F - S Johnson, Franklin, Fyfe, S Sidebottom, Porplyzia, D Smith, Saad (A Hall, Sexton)

$160,000 left in the bank, opinions?

Get rid of Chapman and Cox and fit in another mega premium into your midfield. Both too overpriced. Cox will be great but you can sacrifice a 10p average (if he even gets there) for a midfielder that can smash Carrazzo/Danger's scores out of the park.

Salary Cap: $100

i've changed my mind and swapped sloane for cotchin, more of a safer bet. i just think cotchin will show us why he will be a star player this year and average 100. i'm being a bit different and have strategies i already have prepaid throughout the year. i'm happy with this team

swap hayes for bartel, swap chapman for dangerfield, then u will have enough cash to play with during the season and upcoming byes

B - Scotland, H Shaw, Birchall, M Clarke, 3 rookies to be picked RD 1 all ~104K
M - Boyd, Selwood, Ablett, Rockliff, van Berlo, Clifton
R - Cox, Giles
F - S Johnson, Franklin, Fyfe, Goodes, Dangerfield, D Smith, Pfieffer

Bench I'm not worried about right now.

But if I do:
B - Scotland, H Shaw, (Lake vs Waters vs M. Johnson), M Clarke, + 3 rookies to be picked RD 1 with more to spend on the rookie type player or have cash in the bank

M - Boyd, Selwood, Ablett, Rockliff, van Berlo, Clifton
R - Cox, Giles
F - S Johnson, Franklin, Fyfe, Goodes, Dangerfield, D Smith, Pfieffer

M Johnson is looking like a risk that might be worthwhile....

Defense - Don't like Wilkes. Even if he plays (which I'm not 100% he will) he wont score well. Don't know who those back rookies are either.
Midfield - Looks good other than Cotchin. To pick him you must expect him to average at least 100 ppg. I don't think he will but up to you. Don't know who Miles is....
Rucks - Looks good. Liked Campbell's game on Sunday. Might take Giles over Orren though.
Forwards - Looks pretty good. I don't know much about Kerridge, Couch or McIntyre though...

Forwards: L.Franklin, N.Fyfe, D.Martin, P.Dangerfield, J.Porplyzia, D.Smith, A.Treloar (????,????)

Unsure on the rookies at this point.

Yes I'm dumb enough to go with Dangerfield (again:eek:). Ruck situation is annoying me. Wanted Cox/Leuenberger but the bye wont allow it. Am considering swapping McEvoy to I.Maric or maybe MacIntosh to earn some money then just trade Leuenberger in after his bye. Backline might change yet due to all three premiums having a bye in the same week.

Miles is from GWS, he should be a great pick, scored very well last year.
Campbell would have very poor JS, Minson, Cordy and Roughead ahead of him.
Kerridge has been one of the best fwd rookies this PS, good pick.
Couch is a good chance to be promoted for Melb with Magner sidelined now.
McIntyre i doubt he'll have great JS, think Adelaide have a few ahead of him.

Barry, if I was you I would swap McEvoy or Cox for Giles and upgrade him, Redden or Stephensen to Cox or McEvoy after their bye round. This way you will also have about 400k left over to upgrade at least 3 forwards or defenders.

Not a bad idea. I had Giles but saw he only got 10 on the weekend. I'm guessing he was probably subbed off. Would he be picked ahead of Brogan?

The rookies I'm not overly concerned about and will look to finalise them round 1.

I've had Cox all preseason up until 5 minutes ago, as I traded Boyd in for Sidebottom. Cox > McEvoy, Sidebottom > Boyd

I'm unsure on Winderlich, do people think he can be a successful midprice option?
Fair bit of injury risk in my backline, however all of the reliable players in the backline appear to come with hefty price tags.
Any major issues I've missed?

Cheers in advance.
