Post Your Team (Part 2)

Remove this Banner Ad

DEFENDERS:

Scotland, Goddard, Carrazzo, Enright, Hardingham, Clarke, Bugg, (Spurr, Darrou)

MIDFIELD:

Boyd, Ablett, Murphy, Sumner, Smith, Miles, (Neale, Magner)

RUCKS:

Leuenberger, Giles, (Redden, Stephenson)

FORWARDS:

Johnson, Chapman, Franklin, Goodes, Zaharakis, Dangerfield, Pfeiffer, (Zorko, Lynch)

Wouldn't mind knowing what you think, feel free to throw some advice, cheers.

  • I don't know much about Hardingham, apart from the fact he's a mid-pricer, but I'd swap him for someone like Hargrave.
  • Neale is injured from what I hear
  • Zorko is also injured.
  • Which Lynch?
  • Apart from that, good =).

Mind reviewing mine?

Re: Post Your Team Part 2

Green = Players I think are good, solid selections
Black = Could go either way, will need a bit of luck on your side for them to be worthwhile
Red = Spuds. I wouldn't even consider them.

Overall, I think you have too many mid-priced selections and not enough genuine guns. For instance, you only have one gun in your back line.

FFS, Rohan's not a spud.

Ok so tossing up the 2 teams, Just doing a starting 22, bench is same for both.

Team 1:
Def: Scotland, Shaw, Broughton, M Johnson, M. Clarke, B. Ellis, Darley
Mid: Swan, Boyd, Ablett , Mitchell, van Berlo, Clifton
Ruck: Hale, Maric
Fwd: Chapman, Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Porplysia, D. Smith, Saad

Hale as a dark horse, Maric as a 1st ruck. Johnson is another gamble (DPP might be possibly helpful come bye rounds esp with Smedts a possibility on the bench), I'll see how he goes this weekend. Not willing to carry too many injury-comeback players.

Team 2
Def: Scotland, Shaw, Carrazzo, Lake, M. Clarke, B. Ellis, Darley
Mid: Swan, Boyd, Ablett , Mitchell, van Berlo, Clifton
Ruck: Cox, Redden
Fwd: Chapman, Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Porplysia, D. Smith, Saad

Two 'reliable' or consistent scorers in ruck vs Super Premo rookie? Two injury-comeback players?

  • Personally I'm going Birchall over Suckling, but that's just me =)
  • Clifton > Coniglio, IMO - saves you 50k, and the scoring ability of the two will be minimal, IMO
  • Rowe out, Redden in.

Mind reviewing mine? Page 21.

Re: Post Your Team Part 2

Spud wasn't a great word. I just don't think those three are good DT picks this year. He's definitely not a spud player!

Yeah, sorry for overreacting. Should've understood what you meant.

He's an interesting one - I think this will be his breakout year, but it might not translate into DT points. I'm contemplating him, but am uncertain.

My team at the moment.

Scotland, H
Goddard, B
Carrazzo, A
Shaw, H
Waters, B
Clarke, M
Ellis, B

(Smedts, B)
(Bugg, T)

Swan, D
Selwood, J
Watson, J
Hodge, L
Masten, C
McDonald, J
(Clifton, S)
(Magner, J)

Jacobs, S
Giles, J
(Redden, J)
(Stephenson, O)

Franklin, L
Goodes, A
Fyfe, N
Martin, D
Howe, J
Smith, D
Treloar, A
(Hall, A)
(Couch, T)

Rookies likely to be shifted around.
Have gone with weak rucks to bolster other positions.
Waters, Howe, Masten as unique mid pricers.

DEF: Shaw, Deledio, Birchall, Duffield, Hargrave, Ellis, Darley, (Morris, Bugg)
MID: Pendles, Ablett, Selwood, Montagna, Clifton, C.Smith, (McDonald, Magner)
RUC: Cox, McEvoy, (Giles, Redden)
FWD: Chapman, Franklin, Martin, Sidebottom, Dangerfield, D.Smith, Saad, (Hall, Couch)

Cash left: -$2,400 =D.

Thoughts:
  • Clearly the team is illegal, due to salary cap extortion. Rookies will change.
  • Goddard is a headache - terrible NAB form, new coach, but everyone has him, so if he starts 2012 with a bang, then I'm stuffed. If he starts 2012 like 2011 though, =D
  • I have a 10/9/11 bye ratio at the moment, which is bothersome. Need to look at more R12/13 rookies, but there's so many tasty Giants.
  • Chapman and Franklin is a bit top-heavy IMO - I'd like to ditch one for a Zaharakis-type (although Zaha himself has been underwhelming so far).
  • Orren has been dropped, for obvious reasons.
  • Miles goes in over Old McDonald if he's named Round 1.
  • Porps over Danger if he goes bang in the GF. Would free up cash, too. Could ditch Franklin/Chappy for Porplyzia to free up even more cash, as Danger looks good this year (no bias intended).
Other's thoughts?

Thanks for reviewing mate.

I would keep Franklin. I would take the risk of Porps in the forward line. Zaha has been a bit down on form of late, I still think there are better options. Chapman I never pick due to his injury history. Otherwise I am liking your selections :thumbsu:

Def Goddard, Scottland, H Shaw, Deledio, Hargrave, Spurr, Bugg
Subs: smedts,, S Darley

Mids Swan, Mitchell, Ablett, Dangerfeild, Wingard, J McDonald
SubsC Hampton, J Magner

Subsstephenson, derickx

Forwards Champman, Franklin, Martin, Harvey, Pavlich, Saad, Sexton
SubsJ Cameron , Kerridge

Cash:$127,600

Please review mine, all feed back/ suggestions would
Be very greatful

OK, so I took out Hardingham and put in Hargrave, which gave me some extra cash, all good.

I then took out Neale and put in Clifton, I'm kinda worried I have too many GWS in my side though, especially in the middle.

Then I took out Zorko and put in Kerridge from Adelaide.

Kerridge VERY unlikely to play Round 1 unless we get say three injuries to midfielders in the next two weeks. Will be a good downgrade target for mine as I think once he is in, he may stay in.

Looks good. Fingers crossed Beau plays at least 20 games. I think there are better starting rookies than Miles though. You should really have your bench included though because if you are short coin you're gonna have to change your 22.

3 GWS rookies in the mids is a gamble, and it will mean you upgrade your midfield first to avoid donuts in the round 11 byes. Can I ask why L Brown? I see him in a few teams but his pre-season is interrupted and hasn't featured in the NAB cup at all. I thought at most he would be a downgrade option.

He had strong mail in the pre-season that he was earmarked for a backline spot as he is highly rated at the Club. All was going well until he was hit in the face at a pub as a result of fight not involving him. Has not played a game in the NAB and will not be in the round one line up. A couple of injuries to defenders and he would be a big shot but too much of a risk for mine.

Cheers. Here is my bench: (I only have $4,300 left by the way)

DEF: Darley, L.Brown
MID: McDonald, Magner
RUC: Redden, Stephensen
FWD: McIntyre, Couch

McIntrye behind Wright and Callinan at least and is no chance of playing round one. Same with L Brown. Look elsewhere is my advice.:)

Cheers mate. :thumbsu:
I saw he was taken high up in the mini draft, but for quite a few teams to have him despite his injury is a bit weird. I wonder how many will still select Shiel?

B. Goddard, B. Deledio, J. Grimes, N. Suban, R. Hargrave, P. Davis, M. Clarke (S. Morris, B. Wilkes)
S. Pendlebury, G. Ablett, J. Watson, L. Hayes, S. Coniglio, D. Shiel (E. Kavanagh, J. McDonald)
D. Cox, H McIntosh (J.Giles, O. Stephenson)
L. Franklin, A. Goodes, N. Fyfe, T. Cloke, D. Zaharakis, J. Porplyzia, A. Saad (A. Zorko, C. Dell'Olio)

This is my first draft. Thoughts please. :)
