Just watching The.Three.Musketeers.(2023). It's in Frech but you get subtitles. The Foreign movies do have good optics and stories and the costumes are great.

Netflix and the like have completely ruined some quality foreign movies and TV by having the horrendously out of synch English audio instead of subtitles.

I download one with the subtitle hard encoded into it. The syncing looks ok.

Ah, that takes me back. Everyone dumps on Cage these days, but his movies from the mid 90s - The Rock, Con-Air and Face/Off (1997) were all classics.

Watched American Beauty again last night. Still like the film and the soundtrack is amazing. Spacey's role was creeping me out a bit though. Like that part where he's about to sleep with that high school girl. I'm glad he didn't go through with it but still, it shouldn't have even got that close to happening.

Still some great acting in that film. Kevin Spacey, Annette Benning & Chris Cooper all nailed their roles.

I just thought it was a creepy thing for the protagonist to do. He ended up getting killed by his closested psycho of a neighbour which wasn't his fault. Copping a beating from the parents of that high school girl would have been well earned though.

I just noticed Rolling Stone mentioned American Beauty winning best picture in their 'Top 50 worst decisions in movies" list at number 30. I think they have a point actually. 1999 was a strong year. The Matrix, Fight Club and Office Space were all better films.

I get laughed at, but I always enjoyed Dark City which came before Matrix

Underwhelming lot there .....2001 A Space Odessey, I'm still yet to sit thru the whole movie .......it's a difficult viewing

Citizen Kane is magnificent & deserves all the plaudits it receives

Is Vertigo Hitchcock's best movie ? .....my favourites are "Dial M for Murder" - "Rope" - and "The Wrong Man" ......I love all his movies though

I've also never understood "The Searchers" being regarded as one of John Wayne's best movies .....maybe it's the subject matter ?
