I thought it did a little as well, I think because the names have the effect of changing the colour of the background slightly. Not exactly pink, but a less-orangeish tone of red than our sash. Certainly more flattering than pyjama grey!

I was more concerned that our blokes were kicking it to Port players coz they forgot we weren't wearing black for a split second XD

Yep, complete with red shorts. It worked because it was, y'know, predominantly red as opposed to black. So despite it not being fit for purpose (apparently), it's taken how many years since to get back to the same basic idea?
