Yeah but if we draft him we need to do so on its own merits, not being second in the Magarey. Kane Mitchell, Brad Ebert, Matt Thomas are all winners of their respective state B&Fs and while reasonable for us haven't been heads and shoulders above any other players plucked from those leagues (Puopolo, Barlow etc).

Should that be Brett?

Glad to see Ah Chee is still there, the guys shown a lot of potential in the SANFL.

He looks like a SJohnson but with a decent work rate

Don't get the fuss over Blee. He's 23 years old, he's only played 2 games this year (despite Carlile, Trengove and Hombsch all missing a varying amount of games through injury) and he has no particular stand out quality that screams 'I am an AFL footballer'. Successful list management weeds out this type of player and replaces them with somebody that might have a future.

I wouldnt mind Freo getting him as a PSD pick. Did look ok in some areas when he played.

Considering he was a defender, he was fighting among a fair bit of players to get a spot in the back 6. It would of been interesting had he played one game for Port in the forward 6. Freo are desperate for Key forwards and Medium forwards.

I reckon you can't do no wrong picking him up.
Is from WA, would be cheap in terms of $ and the defensive part of his game is really good and he can also play on the wing which is good too.

Id take that Kane Mitchell fella from your mob. I like him. Mason Shaw looks promising. But it will seem Port will keep both for the future.

Stop drooling and picking through our list :p
Do you go through every list or just keep an eye on the WA boys?

Bit of both... Freo are desperate for a key forward. Would be happy if any Decent WA fella wants to head back home, in which it has happened in the past.

As much as I would love a Certain Lance Franklin from the hawks.... $1.5 million a year is a fair bit for one bloke.

Especially with a dodgy body.

How good would Freo be with Franklin on the list. That said, what makes Freo so special is they are like the Swans with loads of rookies and low draft picks stepping up.

I dare say the flag is yours for the taking.

Their brand of footy suggests Franklin wouldn't be as dangerous there.

With all their weapons and quality players, they sure play a shit brand of footy. Infuriating.

I dont want Franklin for the simple fact of a couple of reasons... 1 reason is the fact of the cash for one player. The other reason is the possibility of him getting injured.

Freo "won" in that trade period of 2011 when we needed a key forward back then. Yes Im refering to Mitch Clark. Clark, being a WA boy wanted to come home to be with his family, Freo offered pick 16 to get him on the monday. Melbourne offered pick 12 and offered Clark $750,000 a year for 4 years. Crazy Vossy wanted Freo to up their offer and demand pick 16 and 20 (That was the Palmer Compo pick).

History showed Melbourne got Mitch Clark for pick 12. Clark has spent the last 2 seasons at Melbourne injured and on good money. Freo used pick 16 and 20 for Tom Sheridan and Hayden Crozier. Then 58 and 71 for Lachie Neale and Cam Sutcliffe.

I rather Take Freos chances in the Draft now.

We play and interesting Brad of Footy. If I had it my way. Franklin would not suit our forward line. A guy like Westoff, Lynch, Leigh Brown, Kurt Tippet would.

Freo dont need a 60-70 goal a season Key forward. A 30-40 goal a season forward would do well.

Freo also have a Plan B as well.

If guys like Walters, Ballas and Mayne dont score, Plan B is to Chuck a Mid like Suban, Fyfe or Mzungu in the half forward line to score goals.

I dont want Franklin ....
You might find this thread more the place to discuss Franklin with Port supporters, FWIW I largely agree with what you say. Not that I absolutely say no to him, but there has to be a good value for money case.

Agree that you guys did exceptionally well in the end out of that trade week with Clark spending most of his time on the sidelines with his cash, but I'm pretty sure that you didn't offer pick 16 on the Monday. IIRC you guys were being a bit more stingy than that.

Apologies if I've missed a recent conversation, but anyone know what all the delisters are up to now? Any training with opposition clubs? Who's playing SANFL/VFL, etc next year?
