JaB is very very happy to see that Carlton has decided to recruit blokes who will (at least) have the physical size to compete - wouldn't it be great to see a Carlton player(s) put some Hawthorn mids on their backsides - over and over again? I look forward to payback coming for all the years Carlton players have been rag dolled - Malthouse won't tolerate weak players.

Murphy and Gibbs are going to love Cripps when he really gets going.

I've seen Cripps no sooner get hands to ball and a sharp hand-pass to a team-mate follows. Sometimes it actually happens almost too quick.
When he doesn't fire the ball out, he'll have hands above his head forcing the mids to run to an open position.

And I can't see any reason why he couldn't play round 1 next year.
Both McLean and Robinson need replacing from our best 22. I'd play him next year against Richmond without any hesitation.

I only saw the glimpses of Crippa in the senior games he played, and wasn't really focusing on him.

So the people better in the know, was he really as good as you're all saying he was last year? I know his broken leg didn't help, but was there really good signs in the VFL of a Jobe Watson type player or are we sort of just giving him lot's of love cos he's new and a high pick?

Let's just say he does some very high quality AFL things that most players just can't do.

His vision and reaction times are of a very high standard.

So just clever inside stuff?

Do you think he'll be best 22 next year?

Just very clever ball handling and the ability to execute at the right time. We won't see too many haphazard deliveries leaving his hand or foot.

We'll know soon enough and most likely before Christmas. If his fitness has gone up a notch or two, he may be hard to ignore.

He came off a preseason injury and played so well in the VFL that he forced his way in. Admittedly he looked way off the pace in the AFL that first game but his VFL play is commanding. Takes control of the game whenever I saw him and his leadership will shine when he feels more at home in the AFL.

Anyone have footage of that televised VFL game he starred in?

I gave up a number of years ago when I realised that the whole top of my head is a bald spot.
I'm a "number 2" man now. Got my own shears and do it myself - saves me heaps on paying some dude to do it.
The hair on my back is so long now that I can comb it upward across the bald spots on the top of my head. I call it the reverse mullet.

How is his pace and overhead marking ?
