Sorry Keys, I can't see the connection between his captaincy and his hamstring problems.
Why will his being Captain have anything to do with his hamstring?
He still trains and give his all wether he is Captain or not.

Because if he's constantly managed, or injured for that matter, it subsequently means you're constantly having your Captain, the on field leader of your club not playing football and... y'know... leading. Like he's supposed to?

Pretty straightforward.

Should've been Barrass, but oh wells. If Shuey is watching from the sidelines in 2023 then that's on the players who elected him.

Cannot believe people continue to encourage this individual and laugh at their comments. Nothing humorous about them, just pure malice and negativity.

Anyway, disappointing news about Jack and fingers crossed for “not as bad”. Our luck would have turned then 😆

Everything else sounds relatively positive, a lot to look forward to 👍

What has Darling's ankle injury changed? Nothing.

Draftee KP forwards take years to develop so they would not help cover any injuries anyway. Plus we arent contending anyway.

It may just mean Bailey Williams plays forward and Jamieson plays ruck support.

Maybe Gov moves forward and H Edwards and Barrass are the two tall backs.

Waterman plays FF which is his best position imo and Allen chf.
Yep, Matt Jefferson wouldn't be much help this year

I like Jake but I genuinely think him playing a key positional role is worrying. Jack is tge last of the 190cm ish key forwards in the game and he has multiple tools thats allowed him to play undersized. Jake has that endurance that Darling posses buu he lacks the strength and straight line speed that Darling has

Lol, if Shuey doesn’t play I guess the other leaders will just not lead as they weren’t given the “captain” title.

Nothing changes but it highlights that we lack known developing key fowards are are thus exposed going forward. My gut feeling is that a wild card will stand up.

Waterman at FF=tanking

Our options are pretty limited …

B Williams
J Williams
Waterman
Throw Gov/TB forward

Don’t love any of these tbh

That's a very strange arguement.

So Shuey been managed/injured and missing chunks of football is totally fine... because we have other leaders that aren't the captain? That about it?

It's almost like there's absolutely no point in having a captain then. Might as well rotate it weekly.

Where was Hough today? B side

Also is J.Jones training more as a fwd or defender this PS? I assumed with the loss of Rioli he might be a good fwd replacement

Reports so far have been positive, at the very least he brings leg speed and rebound we've been sorely lacking.

That the spirit😂😂😂😂

If you haven’t figured out that after 73 games Waterman isn’t a key forwards backside and Williams has shown time and time again he can’t mark or kick making him useless as a forward then there’s not much help for you.

He's never had a clean run playing one, lets be honest.

Because he isnt super tall he is similar to Darling and is better on the lead. Darling though for his height is strong and isnt pushed out of a contest.

Waterman at FF and can switch with Oscar to mix things up.

A resting ruck rotation at times then go small and fast at other times.

This season we look like going fast by hands and by foot. We get to play without fear or expectation. And a fair few players out of contract soon. For many its a make or break season.

Do you think Barrass will lead differently if Shuey is out just because he has a title?

If not, then it’s a non issue

He played 17 games and missed two with covid last season.

And there wasnt a definative reason to make a change.

Maybe Barrass said its a year too early? Has he got kids already?

Not a great way for a club champion to get moved aside either. Lets see if he can pull the team together, focus on the next teir stepping into the best 22, mentor the kids and look for an improved competitive 2023.

Get the ship back on course and then hand over to Barrass in 12 months.

Now Freo and Fyfe! Thats sounding like a much more interesting story.;):tearsofjoy:

One of Williams strengths in his draft year was his marking, he’s 22 and your skills deplete when your are against stronger fitter bodies the whole game.

Being able to mark the ball is not a sudden ability you lose, I would put it down to fatigue and being out bodied.

So 5 years ago? Is marking credits the new currency

I would like to see JD replaced with a small.

Williams rotating between FF and Ruck, would require Naitanui to get up to about 75% TOG but would be ideal.

Don’t want to see Williams and Jamieson both getting games or we’ll be run of our legs completely.
Surely you’re talking bout Jack here.

Really hoping you’re
