Sheed did the same injury as darling in preseason last year he came back mid season then injured himself because he was underdone .
Isn't it too early to make that call until we know what Darling actually did? As mentioned, Darling injured his Ankle in 2018, missed 6 weeks and was a key component in us winning the flag. Chesser and Cole also injured their ankles and missed a year. We will have to see either way.

If we lose our 2 KPF from the last decade, we will struggle up front. Especially given our poor record of inside 50’s.

Our options are limited

1. Allen looks the part but will need to be nurtured in 2023 given we bungled up his body rucking him too soon

2. Waterman has been effective in the past as a fill in CHF but it feels like we’d be undersized

3. Bailey Williams has not progressed as I’d hoped hence there is an air of concern and a worrying poor set shot at goal record

4. Jack Williams is someone I have optimism with. Has a lot of good attributes but is very young and unrealistic to expect too much at an AFL level when he has been starved of opportunity at a WAFL level.

5. Gov - you know it makes sense

6. Barrass is another option but looks more a defender than a forward

Now - ask yourself how much Daniel Curtin would be up front? No JD and we stay close enough to pick 1-3 that will be required to get him. Assuming he continues to develop

For the future, Barnet will likely be a KPF who can ruck.

Alright *******.

34 year old nephew, grade 1/2 syndesmosis partial tear. No complications. Firefighter from the calendar. Injury 5 months ago. Was given 8 weeks rest in a moonboot. Didn't heal and had private surgery. 12 Weeks since surgery, at a push hard but not explosive running and has done 8 weeks of physical therapy mainly based around reformer pilates, bodyweight exercises, stretching and 4 sessions in the pool a week. Love of his life is surfing, 12 weeks since surgery and he can't get up on a board.

Played for peel, worked out he wasn't good enough for AFL but country footy plus a job paid more so went down that path.

Now if jack has just blown out even some serious ankle ligaments he will be back in 6-8 weeks but he won't be at 100%. If he's only done some minor ligament damage he'll be back running mostly on an alter-g machine within 2 weeks but still 4-5 weeks away. Unlike you i've seen the footage, this is likely the best case scenario.

Oh and just tell me when he does come back tell me how much of that straight line speed he's going to have before he can get fully match fit when his ankle is strapped hard and he won't get the push off from that ankle. Or tell me how good his lateral strength and agility is going to be straight away.

Even if it a low grade tear and ligament only, he's at the very least lost any and all gains made through the preseason and lost a significant amount of lateral strength.

So go on, tell this fully self funded retiree campaigner he doesn't know what he's talking about again.
Somebody needs a Snickers.

From the date of the injury (10/2) -

5 weeks he’d be ready for Round 1 (Doubtful)

8 weeks he’d be ready for Round 4 (Best case realistically)

12 weeks he’d be ready for Round 8 (Hopefully this is the longest he’s out)

19 weeks he’d be ready for Round 14 after the bye (Just about time to consider putting him in mothballs until 2024)

B Williams on a good day will go okay forward ...bust packs , has a presence , has talent and improved 25% in 2022 so more improvements could be in 2023 .

J Williams has some talent must get some opportunities in 2023 also if JD is out .

Now Jack Darling is powered by Skynet, he’ll be kicking asses and chewing bubblegum in two weeks.

Is it a bad sign that they are taking so long to tell us how bad the injury is? They must have a diagnosis and a prognosis on it by now. I am expecting some pretty bad news. I just think that if it was a minor issue they would have put that on their social media by now.
If they go in for scans on a Friday, they usually don't release the results until Monday/Tuesday. It's pretty standard.

Do you mean the hospital or medical facility doesn't release the scans/results to the club until a Monday or the club doesn't announce the news to us until a Monday?

I guarantee you that the club Doctors have already seen whatever scans have been done. Would have seen them same day they were done.

This isn't Joe Smith who hurt his ankle kicking the footy around at the park with his mates and went to St John of God's for a scan last Friday. This is a business with tens of millions in turnover each year and Darling is a significant asset. They would have arrangements with healthcare facilities to get immediate access to equipment for scans/diagnosis for players when required and immediate access to the outcomes of any tests or scans.

“Coming over here, I feel like there’s great support around me and that will get the best out of me,” he said...🤬🤬🤬

What an ungrateful little campaigner

Also, the scratch match against Port was only announced a couple of weeks ago so how the **** could he have put it in his diary when he arrived at the club

Would love to see Hurn run right through him

Um what would the rush be?

The only reason to fast track scans and a prognosis was if we were going to pull the trigger on a player before the 15th.

He injured it Friday. Spends the weekend getting the swelling down. Go for a scan Monday.

You really do get overly dramatic about these things.
