Can’t watch the game

How has Chesser, Culley and Hewett looked?
Hewett kicked a great goal and looked comfortable at the level.

Culley did well kicked a goal. Played mostly midfield.

Chesser did some nice things playing on the wing. Overall a pretty good look at the future.

I can see a lot of senior players not up to scratch being pushed our of the squad by the kids. Duggan and cole don't perform? Hough and Burgiel are waiting. Sheed and gaff? Ginbey Hewett Chesser Long. pretty nice position to have for once
I didn’t watch the game and I dunno bout duggo but this is coles first game of any sort since 2021 and I think thats very unfair

I don't think he was saying either of those players were no good tonight, just that we have replacements if they hit a patch of poor form in the season.

Bingo although duggan did leave me underwhelmed, I thought cole was pretty good

Quick rundown:
Most of the heavy lifting was done by the regulars, Gaff, Kelly, Ryan, Gov, Sheed etc.
Allen was very good on return along with Duggan. Cole brought the energy and run along with Hunt. Nothing crazy but were making the play happen when given a chance.

Witherden has slimmed down a lot and was involved early.
B. Williams started well and threw his body around a bit. Still moves like a giraffe but is becoming more confident.
Jamieson went well and seemed to not get outbodied as easily as he has in the past. Noticeably bigger.
Hewett looked pretty slick. Probably had 5 disposals in the 1 quarter including a ripper goal.
Culley I didn't notice too much and I reckon struggles when the ball leaves the immediate stoppage.
Chesser looked silky smooth early on. Playing wing and hit a few targets. Problem will be to get the ball in his hands.
Long was running around out there but didn't get near it

Hough started later on and didn't do a lot. Had a bad turnover kick for him, and probably just needs to adjust to the pace of the game. Looks to be behind a few for a def spot come R1
West can't quite put everything together but needs to be played in the midfield IMO

fair summary, plenty (young and old) will be better with a game or two under their belt.

You taking the piss.

Gaff did the heavy lifting. Seriously did you watch it

Did you see his run down tackle in the F50 that produced a goal for Ryan?

He ran pretty hard and was involved longer than most due to his endurance.
Gaff turned the ball over the most. He produced about 10 clangers with poor disposal last night. There was one stretch in the last where he turned it over three times in the space of 5 minutes. His not looking and kicking to nowhere will cost us big time this season.

I'd rather Chesser Hewitt and Gibney over clanger king Gaff.

My favourite Gaff moment was his 3 turnover kicks in a row. 2 hack kicks, one from his left, one from his right sent to the moon, and then topped it off with a kick on his preferred left foot right onto a Port players tit as TK fed him the pill in a good exit from a stoppage.

I'm glad he had that good tackle effort in the F50, or the pitch forks would be out already 🔥

I was thinking that while our young uns have shown glimpses they are in no shape to put in a 4 qtr effort.
Our best team still is the old firm with a sprinkling of 1st and 2nd year players.

Ginbey sounds likely of playing the most but is very hot and cold. We will see next week.

Culley is no lock for R1
Hough is no lock for R1
Chesser looks like he will need time in the WAFL but will break through for a few games here and there. (Sub 10 disposal with the odd goal) Might get a gig on the wing for a run of games.
Bazzo has just returned and likely builds up in the WAFL early season.
Williams is interesting, hasnt really knocked down the door but is a chance if Darling is injured. Ideally plays a lot of WAFL and gets a good run of form going.

Hewett looks like he can impact games but inconsistently. If he's fit I have him as playing WAFL but will break through for a few games as the bench midfielder.
Long could grab a small forward spot but honestly I wouldn't expect much. Is behind a few others,

Everyone else seems a long way off or are still rehabbing injuries.
