Clark couldn’t keep up with Gaff, as per those tweets.

Does that mean they’re doubling down with Clark as a wingman? Makes little sense to me.

I don’t know why they put Clark on a wing. Not his natural position. Unfortunately I see a lot of WAFL time for Clark this year, unless we’re hit with injuries.

Imagine being satisfied with scraping over the line against a team stacked with WAFL players, and then actually bragging about it

Both Fremantle and West Coast had match sims today

So far we’ve had a tweet from Lachy Reid saying Yeo and Ginbey were rotating between midfield and half back and a newspaper report expressing surprise at an appearance by Jackson Nelson and some solid notes on players doing laps away from the match sim

Nothing from the club

The best info we’ve got is that series of tweets Nuffington Post just posted from a fan watching through the gates

Meanwhile, Fremantle have posted numerous photos, videos and descriptions on Twitter and there’s be updates from a number of journalists who’ve been watching

I’m not having a crack at our social media people because they’ve been pretty good this off season and I’m sure we’d see more from them if they were given license to do so

This is on the higher ups, starting with Nisbett, who have an obsession with secrecy. The contrast between the two clubs is massive
Club has to be careful of a whole new demographic likely to pick Freo over WC if we don’t have onfield success soon. Was just in Perth for a month and it’s pretty clear which team the kids are choosing. Not likely to change with marketable players like Jackson joining

Club should be doing all it can

Kids are dumb though, and will grow to be old men filled with regret if they choose Fremantle.

How did you take what I said about you missing out on Jackson, lead to this comment. Hope you enjoy watching roos beat you for the third time straight on the 18th of March.

You’re supposed to say you come in peace first.

Agree but I'd rather the club build towards premiership success than chase a single year of off-field dollars. Culley and Ginbey could be cult heroes. We've got a lot of quality youth coming through. If we suck for a season but see these kids are something special the club will more than reap the rewards without rushing them into the A team underdone.

We've needed more goals from the midfield for a while now - hopefully this new fandangled gameplan will help account for that.
We have needed more everything from our midfield under Simpson. Contested possessions, tackles and inside 50s especially.

We have been much too reliant on natanui's silver service than our mids don't know how to earn possessions through hard running and sharking taps .

As soon as nic came back in such horrible condition last season not even being able to jump the writing was on the wall for our season .

I can't disagree with what you're saying but perhaps Simmo was working to our list strengths (and managed to win a flag)?

1: We don't need the midfield goals - we have Kennedy and Darling
2: We don't need the stoppage wins - we have McGovern and Barrass
3: We don't need more CPs from our midfield - we have Naitanui

We need change moving forward, but trying to pin it on the past is a bit weak; he won a flag from it and tried to persist, but hopefully it trying to forge new ground.

Our level of secrecy compared to Freo's has worked 4 times to 0 so we'll be ok.

I'm okay with club/training secrecy at this stage. It means they have something to hide and that presumably is a new game plan, which is fully expected or demanded by supporters. How extensive that plan is, or much it breaks away from the previous plan remains to be seen of course.
A bit late on this topic but yes, Gov looks in peak form!! - if this is the standard set for the rest of the team, things are looking good.

These wet dreams some posters have about new gameplans and how top secret they are and how the element of surprise is the critical ingredient are pretty ridiculous. Complex game plans or game plans that are significantly different to your old game plan take years to recruit the right players to make it work, train it into the players and get them to buy into it and develop unconscious competence at executing it. It is not something you come up with and then just tell the players about it and unveil it in round 1 a month later and everybody else is bamboozled by it.

There are many different game plans that can succeed. It comes down quality of players you have, having the right players for that game plan, having the players buy into it and having it be sufficiently drilled into them that they can execute it seemlessly. Which takes time. It is not about secrecy. The game plans of clubs like Richmond, Geelong, Melbourne etc are not secret. Everybody knows what their game plan is before you play them. That doesn't mean you can stop it nor does it mean you can just go out and copy it next week and execute it at the same level as those clubs who have spent years recruiting for and practicing it.

I get why the club closes the gates to fans and media for match sim days and I don’t have an issue with it

However, I think a bit of a rundown on it and a few photos/short videos from the club itself would help (obsessed) fans in the loop without giving away any trade secrets

I had a look at the Freo website before washing myself in bleach last night and there was a bit of a matter of fact write up (without the ott prose we’re used to seeing from Stocksy) a handful of videos and a social media influencer’s level of photos. None of it gave much away but as a supporter you’d be happy that they’re giving some insight

It should also be noted that if an oppo club really wanted to keep an eye on us, they’d be able to as it is possible to watch without being inside the gates. And I doubt too many clubs are overly concerned with what we’re doing

I have no idea whether they're being secret or not, was just running with other posts mentioning secrecy, (yes, being loose and fast) maybe I misunderstood. But 'IF' there was secrecy for whatever reason and for however long, it's fine. If there's not secrecy or if every man and his dog knows about it soon enough, that's footy.
Game plan is used in the broadest sense, we are all expecting a change in game plan no? I haven't implied anything else, let alone half the stuff you've imagined from my short post. No wet dreams here? Too old for that biz. Neither was I being condescending...
Regarding the term "Game-plan" or "a change in game-plan is needed". That term has been significant in BF posts for the past 2 seasons at least, and especially in the last few months. Everybody's been talking game plan at one stage or another. So ....my bad.
But undoubtedly there will be some change to the game plan, whether you condone it or not...to whatever extent remains to be seen.(as mentioned in previous post)
Also closed training sessions or training away from a crowd is not unusual, and that implies some degree of secrecy. So you'd better direct your mantra to the club and educate them...on secrecy and game plans.
