AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Surely that's incorrect, just wrong copy and paste by article author? I guess we will find out soon Essentially all non-finalists start on Nov 13 except Adelaide and WB (Nov 20).Surprised you have the same return dates, as those that played in the GF.
GOLD COAST
RETURN DATES
First to four year players - November 27
Others - December 4
WHO IS FIT?
Defender Sam Collins finished a very respectable 25th in the Noosa Triathlon earlier this month as he rounded into excellent physical shape.
WHO IS STARTING ON TIME?
Nick Holman missed the final round of the season with a knee injury but should be fit to get into training from the start.
WHO WAS IN FOR SURGERY?
Tom Berry had shoulder surgery when the Suns finished their season but was expected to be fit to start pre-season. Runner Lachie Weller remains away from the main group but is progressing well after knee surgery.
NEW FACES
The most important new face by some way will be new coach Damien Hardwick and the standards he will introduce to his first pre-season on the Gold Coast.
And no other non finalist team starts that late. But there has been nothing on social media. Unless it'll be the 20th instead. Only Crows and Dogs are starting next week, the other non finals have started today. Would be unusual for someone in the bottom half of the ladder to start the same time as the teams that played in the GFYeah not sure why we would be waiting that long to start. Dimma and the boys should be chomping at the bit to get out there.
Strange. We would have already had some posts by the club. Surely next week (as Crows and WB).And no other non finalist team starts that late. But there has been nothing on social media. I completely forgot about VFL finals. It makes sense now.Might be a couple of reasons for a late start.
It is 1-4 year players.
We have not got that many players in the 2-4 years group to start with. And of that group, a few played in the VFL finals series (Davies, Jeffrey, Moyle, Johnston) and probably should have the extra break, plus Hollands got traded.
And the four academy 1st years won't need any settling in period, which is what some of that early start for the younger players is for.
I like the thinking but probably just CBA rule about how much break players have to get after long finals run even if it's only VFL.These guys have been flogged to death by our previous coaches in preseason. Sometimes less is more. I think it's deliberate to get their minds relaxed for a big season.
I want that first training report on my desk at 12 sharp, Jen!training officially starts monday.
Is there another training ground near by? Otherwise they'll have to seek another venue.Spilt milk festival at HBS and on the austworld training ground tomorrow. Doubt the boys are training there on Monday…
Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com
They could just start the preseason at the indoor training centre with weights, ball drills and swimming cardio etc., especially since it’s not the full team.Is there another training ground near by? Otherwise they'll have to seek another venue.
Maybe the one where they generally do the 2K time trial?
Yeah, they usually start with 2K time trial at Bond University. There is also 3rd oval next HBS.Is there another training ground near by? Otherwise they'll have to seek another venue.

When you do let me know, My boss has looking to clone me for years hahaI'll have to find that clone machine lol
I think you can squeeze Tsitas into 2nd place. Looks as though he was there to welcome that next group across the line. Huge effort from Collins especially when he wasn't even required back yet.Looks like
Oskar 1st
Flanders 2nd
Collins 3rd
Noah 4th
Read 5th
Sammy Flanders finishing up with running machines Noz, Collins, and Read is a fair effort. Shows just how hard he has worked himself over the last couple of years.
