AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Honestly thought he looked pretty good the other day, especially considering he recently had surgery. Weird how every post of a player in here just gets turned into hate on Darcy
Because emotionally it doesn't feel good to concede that what has been holding our team back thus inexperience and bad luck. A much more simple, and therefore compelling narrative is that one person is responsible, and they are responsible for a specific socially-stigmatised trait like being fat.
He's just big boned...Is he fat or just big around the waist?
Appreciate that greatly
Sad but trueWhat happens when you’re average and don’t make finals
No, you could see how good Meek was going to be the year before he left us. A lot of us here knew it. Sure he wasn’t as good but it’s the difference between playing cameos from the twos compared to playing consistently in the AFLIf you’d rather pump games into Reidy then you’re a moron.
Meek kind of makes sense but only if you’re Captain Hindsight.
Sorry if that was a bit harsh. My club looking to pick up a player as sh**e as Narkle has me very angry.
He’s a couple of years away from being where Lloyd was when he left I think. Okay maybe not pump games into him. If we’re going to go with two rucks, I need the big-bodied one to not have crooked knees. Every time Darcy is injured, Jackson spends a couple of games readjusting to being the main ruck. It stuffs up his rhythm. The dude can’t be the unicorn we need.Man, Reidy is taking no one bar Peel anywhere

Nope I said it at the start of 2022 and clearly wasn’t alone. Yes, I was Sweetback, if that wasn’t already obvious:You said it here. He wasn’t as good - that’s pretty close to end of the discussion at the time considering Meek is older than Darcy is.
Everyone on here knew Meek was an AFL standard ruck. I don’t think anyone has said otherwise. That’s why he left.
Only reason Meek might’ve gone past Darcy is injuries. Considering Darcy played 20+ games in 2021 and 2022 and 15/17 in 2020, the injuries are nothing but hindsight.

List Mgmt. - 2022 List Management: Draft, Trade and FA
Our trades with the caveat of Hogan look fine; as supporters naturally want to win every trade. It's just harder to be comfortable with our trading history when you compare to clubs like Brisbane McCarthy, 54, 57 for 42, 60 Lyons - delisted free agent Daniher - free agent ($$) Neale, 30 for 6...www.bigfooty.com
He played 15 games last year? 12 this year. We missed out on finals by half a game this year. Maybe we wouldn’t if Darcy had played more. If Jackson didn’t have to ruck so much. Treacy was injured at the end of the Essendon game. Darcy a late out at the start of the next game against the Cats. Jackson had to ruck. We lost our last three games without Darcy and Treacy.Darcy missed three games total across the two previous seasons before this one and the justification was he was injury prone…

I like Sean when he’s not injured. Jackson can’t compete against the big bodied rucks but Darcy can. He’s also a good lead up forward. But IMO I don’t think he’s serious enough about what he has to do to get his body right.

Yeah he wa an injury prone before then. He had two good years in 21 and 22.Before 2022, which is when that post was made.
I’m saying you’re talking with hindsight and/or weren’t talking sense at that time not that you’re necessarily wrong.
Well maybe he’ll come good. He’s still carrying a beer gut. We’ve seen him trimmer, probably when he had those good years, so he can do it.Why is he back at training early then?
Sure he's not looking ideal but he's back training early, had surgery recently and has a whole preseason ahead. It's not over yetHe still.has that stomach band
