Cox has never been a success up forward for us.Started there but was moved back.Tried again last season and it didn't work.
Could only see it as an option if Cox or Pearce is out injured for a decent stretch (say 5-6 weeks) and someone like Draper makes himself undroppable.

And even then we'd probably need to be short of multiple forwards (including guys capable of playing undersized KPF) to really look at it.

I'm testing my memory here thinking that it's something only in past few seasons, maybe post-COVID, where they have the footballs out at the first sessions of pre-season. Not that I would be nostalgic for a time when running and fitness drills before skills was how pre-season started. Maybe I'm just thinking that's the way it used to be because there would be a time-trial run at the start of every pre-season, and we'd look for reports at any newbies breaking in the Top 5 at the finish line to make an early call on who is TTHD.

On Odin Jones: Does anyone know whether his injury was at training, perhaps in the gym, on the eve of training, or outside of training. It's hard to work out from the reports which mention it as happening "last night" - although that could be when the pain of the injury was at its worst. Ryan Daniel's post on X adds the "falling awkwardly" information. The poster who first mentioned it on this thread seemed to know about it before the first training session. 1 post 100% accuracy.

This report says he did it at his home.

I'm not getting ahead of myself, but should we create a flagmantle tag for all threads in 2025? Mods?
I shall not be responsible for any jinxing.

Never? He’s kicked 4 goals in a game before.

He played 1 game forward in 24, Voss played 7 & Tabs 5. Some were at the same time.

I know we have other options if we restructure but don’t be surprised if we get stretched at some stage for KPF depth.

It's over four months until the club plays another game FFS. Unless the club knows he's out for the season by February (or whenever SSP ends) we won't be placing him on the inactive list. We were never replacing Kuek either IMO - was just an excuse to have an extra couple of players train with us.

I have no idea how bad this injury is and neither does anyone on here.
I said If they know, no preseason is hard for a veteran, let alone a 2nd year KPF. It will take him 1/2 the season to get fitness back he was at prior to the injury and he’s probably not near AFL level yet. Terrible for the young bloke in such a crucial part of his career.

Not denying any of that but if there’s any chance he plays WAFL footy next year we aren’t using a SSP spot to replace him.

I get ner

A friend of mine told me his neighbours mates sisters cousin had their house collapse to rubble in Success this afternoon.

Happened at the exact time NOD hit the track.
NODzilla is literally training the house down!

I’d add NOD to that list
I was going to suggest there's a separate group or two, I see the ones listed by Gav as the young guns outside the B22 who need to push those above.

NOD, Sturt, Johnson, Frederick - those thereabouts that need to keep pushing
Fyfe, JOM, Aish, Walters - the experienced brigade that would be very useful to get some solid contributions from

Yes, although I think he will be able n the starting line up.
I think wins the opposite wing to Sharp.Noddy that is.
Occassionally going into centre bounces.Like he did at Peel towards the latter part of the season.
I am not sure if it was just the photos , but Simpson looks to have added some extra muscle to his frame.
Watching Erasmus in the video posted by the club, his hands are so good. Hopefully he can make the team early on and settle his spot.

Add 1st year draftees plus Bolton

Hopefully everyone knows competition for spots is tight and works harder.

Yes that's it exactly. The ones I highlighted are plausible challengers for starting 23 in a near future (Voss a possible exception but if he improves it adds fantastic depth).

They all bring some points of difference.

In particular, if Erasmus actually is a player then this is the season where he needs to smash his way into calculations.
