No, I was only using stats from games that he played at least [emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]% game time for his averages.

No he didn't, Jen, because he's never taken more than contested mark in a game, so that's very clearly not an accurate recollection by you.

Which is a sample size of about a dozen. Which isn’t a meaningful size.

Suddenly with Checkers, McStay and Membrey we have an abundance of KPFs so Jordy is going to have to tear the midfield to shreds all year. Surely Wadey is putting everything into his plans for this bloke as an explosively fit midfield Jordy come next September will be the catalyst for cup number 17 and much joy and merriment
Lets not get ahead of ourselves. I still think the best way to get jordy to the finals in good condition is by using 50/50 midfield to forward deployment. We have enough mids now to have a solid midfield rotation. Use jordy in the midfield during high pressure situations when we really need clearances or need to arrest opposition momentum.

Reckon he has spent 5% of game time up forward under Fly. Can’t see it changing

Dont get me wrong. I love Jordy forward. I still reckon one out hes the most dangerous bloke inside F50 on our list alongside Bobby. Its just a shame just as he built his tank to play full time mid his groins have slowed him up. He was dynamic most of 2023 through the guts. I remember him being on the end of link ups through the centre square he was covering the ground so well. Ive got everything crossed we can see that next September. We really were blessed when you look at our availability in the GF

That will change with the op and subsequent groin injury he suffered. There was a reason why wade went along with de goey to see the specialists. Think not overloading him will be very high priority.

I'm thinking the same thing. I'm not sure we'll ever see him back as a full mid, it'll be split to ease the pressure off his groin issues.

I can see him being sort of OK with that during the home and away season but come finals he'll be like a caged lion
No doubt
Maybe ease him with 50/50 during the H&A season, so he doesn't breakdown before finals.

Saying it's premature to declare Reef McInnes a lock for a permanent 23 spot after a couple pre-season training sessions isn't being a killjoy.
I’m still waiting to see who this mysterious poster who claimed Reef is a “lock” for anything is.

And if it’s literally one random person, was there really a need for this conversation to happen at all?

I made one random comment expressing my opinion, which is pretty normal on a message board. It's up to others if they want to enter into any "conversation." If you and others disagree, that's fine, but it was just my opinion.

Think the recent off season additions has sent a clear message to the team, this list is now more than capable of winning it all next year , so it is time to switch on and focus . 2023 is now a long time ago.

You can see the sharpness and the concentration in the team in the sessions they have had had so far. No doubt they are aware, with the schedule that was handed to them and the brutal opening slate of games, that they cannot afford a 2024 season start.

I firmly believe those additions mentally rejuvenated everyone else.

Great to hear that Reef is looking good, but I hope it's not a repeat of last year, where the coaches were criticised as killjoys when the preseason champion didn't start in round 1.
To be fair, AJ was absolutely horrible and Reef probably should have been given the opportunity ahead of him in hindsight.
