Based on what???
He won 2 Derby medals over there which obviously means he was BOG in 2 big games at least. His F50 pressure is insane. He'll be better this year than last. Im chips in on him this year. Ridiculously harshly judged last year IMO. Hes a small/mid sized forward. Like our Norm Smith winner some weeks they're invisible, its the nature of the position. Our coach knows the deal and understands luckily

He also spent most of the 2024 season without McStay, Cox, Mihocek and Elliott. Get some consistent games out of them, add in Membrey and suddenly the pressure is off. Let's not forget we had Markov playing out of the square at one stage.

Got suspended. Learnt a totally foreign system. Still kicked 24 goals. If that's a shit year I'm excited about the prospect of a good one

Exactly..our forward line consisted of Hill & Schultz as our only true forwards for majority of the year due to injuries to everyone else.

How is Membrey looking out there?

I think he will really add something to our forward line in that ‘connector’ type role pushing up the ground.

Keen to hear how he’s slotting in

That Tom Lynch of the Adelaide variety role of around 2016-2017. Huge to have a connection between half back and deep forward like that
Honestly I’d prefer he played deeper. One of the glaring weaknesses of his game that has been pointed out by a few saints supporters I’ve talked to is that he moves the ball too slowly when he’s up the ground, which is a killer for our game style.

Yeah ok well thats not ideal. I remember Lynch used to get on his bike and turn and play on a lot. As you would when you have peak Walker and Jenkins down there with Eddie Betts and Charlie Cameron at their feet. How the hell they didn't win the flag is a mystery

Lippa with a bit of burst to go with his endurance is a good prospect
He's found a bit extra this pre-season especially when playing in the middle. Maybe a bit stronger.

IQ said he has been on a Keto diet to trim down and while he and Lippa were in the US, they worked with a sprint coach, which has bought him to be in the best fitness.

One thing IQ certainly doesn't have a problem with is adding muscle.

In one aspect that's a blessing but for mine the balance was out last year, he got a little too big and his movement suffered as a result.

I reckon the only real knock at all on his game last year was his (uncharacteristic) inaccuracy for goal.

Straighten that up a bit this year and he’ll be sailing, as far as small forwards go.

The only game i attended last year was the North comeback game and he was brilliant accuracy wise that day. Kicked 4 i think. We don't win without him. Or Bobby hitting his head on the Marvel roof and kicking 5

Nobody gets out of a Shoota tackle.
He'll be so much better this year, as he won't need to play as a KPF because all of ours are injured.
