It's Blakey. They seem to all be wearing all kinds of different numbers during training this year.
Yeah, generally speaking I think when they start out training for the day in red most but not all have their normal numbers on. But then when they are in different coloured shirts for differentiation in match sim. conditions they mainly put on any old number.

We've been singing our media team's praises all summer but pretty disappointing they didn't include a trigger warning with this post for all Grand Uncles out there.

chortle … as for the ”Get it!” Caption, I thought it mean, given how rarely Rowy gets the ball. The Club should be supporting and not satirising one of our obvious strugglers.

There's also some great content being posted from this IG account as well - these are from yesterday (seems they trained in that awful heat!)

Decent leap on Green there! Corey looks ready to break into the team. Would not be surprised to see him push past McInerney who has been dropped in the past.

Ball movement is looking good in all the match sim clips we've seen so far but geez the intensity looks very low. Not really that surprising, some players take it easy during pre-season. Hopefully we are addressing the contested side of things as well.
88 have you met Sydney's humidity? Its a killer. And I'm not making any judgement calls on a few media clips.
Ask me after the first game and we'll go from there because that's all that matters in regards to intensity.

For sure. I have no doubt we can bring it when required.

(Grand finals aside :()

I cant believe they trained in that heat surely it could of been rescheduled to another day or the evening.

Intensity would of been sapped very very quickly.

I'm sure there's medicos, physios etc watching on, not just Horse yelling at them not to drink water

I want the full script in my office by the morning. Do you have a manager?
I had to edit my earlier ramblings. I really must learn to check my work.

My wife manages me. She manages to get me to clean things, to take things places, to fix things, cook things, to make things, to tuck my shirt in, to be polite to her friends...oh yes, she's a great manager.

This plus I wonder about our footwear. Who keeps their feet and what can we learn?
I had a theory that players slip over more when they lose confidence, perhaps unconsciously using slipping as an excuse, or it could be a form or resignation. When we're struggling and down in form, as we were during our early mid season 2023 slump, our slipping rate went up proportionately. When we regained confidence vice versa. It's like the effort needed for our players to keep their feet and stay in the contest just isn't there.

I couldn't tell which came first, which was cause and which was effect. Does less slippage cause more winning or more winning cause result in less slippage?

I had a thought of going through all the year's game footage to analyse the slippage ratio for every game, wet and dry - to take out the slippery ground factor. But I got no further than an entertaining the thought before I realised it would require actual effort on my part.

Perhaps a little soft cap could pay for someone to watch each game and count the slips.
