Clarke to Daicos seems a no-brainer (though I maintain Pendlebury is the better one go shut down - I'm pretty sure half Daicos' disposals this year have come directly from Pendles.)

Rowbottom is in unbelievable form and I wouldn't be doing anything to compromise that, including reverting back to his negating role that doesn't help him or the midfield.

And yeah just bizarre of them to imply that our forward line is a problem. We kicked a score of 91 with no contributions from Franklin or McDonald, yet they somehow found a way to make that a negative point? So weird.
Nick Daicos I mean, since we'd be using Clarke in our forward half.

I don't mean a hard tag on De Goey, but we handled them last time, and he's the key difference to their team from that lineup. Was immense on Saturday night, so whether it's just saying to Mills or Rowy that they're on him, to play their game, but make sure he doesn't take control, that's all.

With 25 F50 tackles against the Dees who have May and Lever, I'm not sure what they're thinking.

Yeah I was referring to Nick Daicos. The amount of times you hear "Pendlebury to Daicos" in Collingwood games this year is ridiculous. Pendlebury is the architect of their rebounds from half back because he finds those flankers they've got - Daicos, Quaynor, Noble - in heavy traffic. Effect Pendlebury's ability to either win the ball or use it effectively, and those rebounding types around him lose a lot of their supply.

Regarding De Goey, I really don't think his game the other night was that was that different to Josh Daicos' game against us in round 22. Quick and powerful centre clearances. If they were in there together I'd maybe be worried but Daicos' CBAs have been cut dramatically since De Goey's return. I would back our midfield collective as a whole to do as they did against Daicos and pressure post-clearance so De Goey's clearances can't hurt us too much. We already know Mills and Rowbottom will defend hard as they know no other way, but we need both in full ball-hunting and ball-winning mode if we're to have a chance.

Read that Pies fans complaining because we are playing on a ground that holds only 48k. Saying we should play at homebush to have fairness to their supporters. Wait a second, we have the right to the home ground advantage last I thought. Who cares if they can't get their fans in, stiff ****.

On another note, going to be interesting week. Family is Swans (Dad's side) v Pies (Mum's side). Lucky I'm not living with them to see the angst. I remember what 2012 prelim was like

Wouldn't it be good to make the Granny again. Hope the boys put in that pressure and effort we saw against the Demons, but 10 fold against the Pies.

Heard multiple Pies fans on SEN Melbourne today saying the SCG is a postage stamp. They were quickly corrected by the host and looked like gooses

I really hope it's over by 3/4 time so we can relax and enjoy.
I wonder if they realise they're saying their team cant win away from home unless they have the perfect ground. Probably not.

Amartey (1 goal, 3 HO, 5 clearances) was quieter than McLean (4 goals, 9 marks, 6 tackles) albeit a better season and closer type to Logan. Tbh I don't see us making any changes. Unchanged and we're identical to the side that beat then 77-50 at the SCG a few weeks back. Emergencies have to be Amartey, Gould, and then 2 of Campbell, Cunners or Ronke (who was one of the better performers in our ill-fated VFL finals). I'd probably prefer Cunners or Campbell as sub though, just think we're better off having a player than can perform a defensive role if needed against the Pies. If we lost a forward, you can shuffle things around, but lose Florent or Fox, and it wouldn't be ideal to just bring Ronke in.
I fancy Amartey to have more impact than McD has last couple of games tbh. Can crash a pack, can ruck actively like Reid (keeps Reid marking inside 50), can tackle a bit more than McD - just a more physical presence all-round. I just think McD has been found wanting physically and mentally battling high-end defensive bigs of late.

No chance I'd bring in Mclean against their rebounding defense.

Agree on Cunningham or Campbell as sub.

I think they are desperately looking for reasons that the game should be at MCG.

You know last game was at the SCG, so next should be at the MCG, MCG bigger capacity, tiny, tiny ground the SCG, they've already had an away game in the finals against Geelong , they don't have COLA or the Academies, airfares are really high to Sydney, it'd be good for the AFL.

It's all so unfair on Collingwood. 😭

Sorry but Cunningham should not be anywhere near this side if we are going on from here to win a flag. Campbell for all his inexperience would be the better option.

If it is a postage stamp and tiny, why wouldn't Collingwood prefer to play on it? They can get back to D50 quicker, get forward quicker with less energy used up. Should suit their style more if it was a postage stamp
I thought you were going to say they can get back quicker to D50 as they will be doing it all game with less energy used up.

That entire segment between Lloyd & Barrett was slanted entirely towards Collingwood. Everything they had to say about us was in a reactive context to Collingwood. Who do we put on Daicos? What can we do about De Goey? What can we do about Collingwood's athletic defence?

Collingwood, apparently, don't need to do anything different to beat us, except turn up!
Yep.
I‘m loving it.
The last thing our guys need is the Melbourne media talking them up.

Fascinating. Just played in the middle and no where else.

i just saw two balls and a c***

edit wrong heat map oh well his looks like a turd , like him

I think you are over thinking it.
They are like 3 year olds on red cordial. All puffed up and excited and then whining whining whining.

I still have 3 tickets available if anyone interested
