This article from Rohan makes a good argument that because of the prefinals bye we are going into this game really lacking rythym. Really concerned about this one but I think we are just a better team than the pies. Hopefully we puthe team through it's paces and we hit the first quarter like a steam train!

I'm sure the players won't be sitting around on their arse over the weekend. Horse said that they would play a full scale practice match of the best 22 vs the rest for 30 minutes or so.

I think we win this easily and if we bring the pressure and kick straight it could be a real blowout tbh.

Couldn't have asked for a better prelim really. The Pies have been good in the finals so far, but there's a fair gap between us and them. Add to this we are at home at the SCG.

I reckon the scoreboard flattered the Pies in our R22 clash and hopefully we control the game from start to finish like we did that day.

No changes and Campbell sub again. I'd have Cunningham, Amartey and Gould as the other emergencies.

I come in peace.

Wishing you luck in the Preliminary Final on Saturday in what will be a battle of the birds. I think it‘ll be a close contest with the results in the balance until the final few minutes.

If you do beat us consider me a +1 for supporting you in the Grand Final. (Hopefully it doesn’t come to that though :D)
I replied to your kind post after our round 22 win stating that we will meet you again in the preliminary final.
I similarly predicted, with 4 rounds to go, that Carlton would miss the 8 being replaced by the Dogs. I'm pleased to say I won quite a nice few $$$ on that prediction.
My ladder predictor also had the top 8 in the same position as they all finished.
The point of all this is I predicted a Geelong/Swans GF with the Swans as the premiers.
Nostradamus mark 2. ;) ;)

I think this is going to be a close one where I finish up like a nervous wreck. Collingwood has more room for improvement since our last game. If we are slightly off and they are at their best, they will get us. We need to be switched on.

I can't see any detail anywhere about SCG members and Swans members bundling barcodes. :( Used to be able to at ANZ but seems impossible here which sucks, my wife will be sitting on her own.
How about those of us with mixed marriages? Can I join my Swans members codes with my wife's Pies code? Mind you, if it does turn out we're sitting in different spots, I imagine I'll make do.

Champion players don’t have two quiet games in a row so expect Bud, Heeney, Chad and Gulden to play big games.

Collingwood are going to kick arsey goals this game, and itll come down to the wire imo. Either team by less than 10 points.

Player for player, we’ve certainly got Collingwood covered, but belief goes a long way by being in the right mindset going in.

all things equal and fair, we're a 6-8-goal better team
it'll probably be some kind of wild ride but i think we'll be dominant by the finish

I know Sydney crowds are not normally hostile but I am expecting something different for the prelim. We got right into Ginnivan last time after he played for a free, and then we got * for it from Vic media who couldn’t tell the difference between racist, systemic booing of the Australian of the Year and booing a player for cheating who can’t take responsibility for his actions (or probably more accurately, they could tel the difference but didn’t care).

I hope we come down even harder if Ginnivan does it again. He played to his Pies supporters last game, which I think is a sign of weakness. He has shown he cares what the crowd thinks and the decisions umpires make. He is a damn talented player and a bit of a barometer for their club - so let’s put him off his game.

I hope the Swans hit hard early in a calm and ruthless fashion to take the sting out of the no doubt numerous Pies fans who will be there. And then I hope the Swans fans complete the mental disintegration by providing hostility no one saw coming (think of the reception for the Uruguay national anthem in the soccer word cup play off - it was nasty, brutal and beautiful (the look on their coaches face was brilliant), and they had it coming after the reception the Socceroos got in Uruguay).

If you attend the game, particularly if you get a barcode from someone on here, think of every injustice Collingwood and fat Eddy have wrought upon our club, the AFL and society, and then give it back in spades.

Let’s give these Pies a Bloods bath! I want to see 22 players writhing on the ground in loserish anguish at the end of the game 😁

(I might actually admire what the Collingwood club has done to improve itself in recent times, as well as a good majority of their players - but this is a prelim and it counts for nothing. They will likely have 3 extra players in yellow so we need to be the the 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th team mates for the Bloods. Let’s bring it!!!)

Of course not but the stats don't lie. The team in position won 90% of the time before the prefinals bye was introduced and only 40% since. Still not a massive sample but I think there is a real disadvantage of playing once in nearly 4 weeks against a team that's been playing weekly finals.

I doubt we'd sub Kennedy. More like Campbell will be sub again.

Collingwood play the right way, similar to us. They've been doing it for one season.

We've built and developed a list over 5 years that's got every contingency under control, different modes, and the best forward line in it

The Collingwood weren't ready last time narrative is cute

I believe there is only one answer if your wife is a pies supporter. Divorce.
