Everyone going OC over PEGS..
Played 3 times last year
0-3..
New year new season though..
Ben Harts 200th.. boys will be up and about and at their ground..
OC coming off the bye have had two weeks to prepare..
It’s going to be a cracking game
Pegs pretty much have same team as last year GF..minus the ruck who retired..it’s basically same 20 from the GF..Flaherty now playing 2s.
OC no idea who they have picked up..
Understand their ruck has taken his game to a new level this season
Verbi is a quality player
Hart was a mid last season seems to be playing more fwd.
anyway big gam

anyway big game. 🍿
Pegs now 4-0 v OC
They lost 3 in the last qtr which allowed OC to push late. But bad kicking could have been 7-8 goals up at 3/4 time.
Bring on Hampton

Well done to Marcellin today , Monders hit the lead with 65 seconds left only for half a minute as a Marcellin player kicked one from 50 out.
3 games 3 wins for the oppo by 3 3 and 2 points.
Heartbreaking but we don't give in.
Another game well umpired, better than watching AFL umps

Prem C looks the most even of all divisions.

All 4 of the bottom teams on the ladder have had a win.

Relegation may well be decided by who handles the great mass Europe exodus of 2023 and the cold winter months the best.

Bottom 4 seem even, the top 4 are comfortably beating the bottom 4 weekly it seems.

Not sure your logic works there. Ormond have been more than competitive and drew with OI and Old Carey thumped Mazenod and drew with Parkdale and only got run over in the last versus OI and Old Camberwell . I think the 4 is far from set in a very even competition

Old Camberwell have belted Carey and Hampton. Pegs have belted Mazenod and Marcelin. Old Ivanhoe have belted Mazenod…

Not really buying that anyone can beat anyone…. I’m sure with Europe summer coming up it will change, however seems a clear top 3 imo with parkdale Carey fighting for 4th.

Marcelin and Mazenod struggling with Ormond being competitive, however not winning.

Marcelin and Mazenod will be buoyed by the strength of their twos. Should hold them in good stead as numbers drop off for everyone.

Marcellin 2's should have lost , Ormond winless were in front with 20 sec to go and a marcellin player kicked one out of the air , teams are having byes , it's hard to get a gauge and then there's the bullshit draw with eg say Hampton playing Ormond in round 2 and 18 . Said it before 1 home , 1 away , if you haven't got a ground , stiff shite

Round 5 - Very honest review. OI v Mazenod

Lets start with the curtain raiser. Two teams, who, it’s fair to say, don’t like each other very much. It proved to be an excellent game, with Mazenod having 2-3 players clearly too good for reserve football and based on yesterdays performance, it’s seriously ridiculous, that they arent playing seniors. 25 Boyce is a classic example of this.

After the school spent a large sum of money to get the surface to an acceptable standard, the game was played in perfect still conditions.

The key for OI was to take its chances, which again it failed to do in the 1st quarter. Same could be said for Mazenod, who in the second quarter, missed simple gettable goals.

The key to Mazenod, is stopping their run from the midfield especially Fewings and Jennings and stopping Lovell and Caspersz In the forward line. You are never going to stop Fewing from getting the ball, it’s where he gets it is the key. Stop him from getting the ball in the front half, and you will go along way to winning the game.

The game was won in the middle, and OI took advantage of two good young ruckman, vs one ruckman for Mazenod. The second quarter was the key, keeping Mazenod goalless, with the Hoes taking their chances.

From then it was quite a procession, given OI’s fade outs against OCamb and Ormond, but with goals from many contributor, the OI won easily (according to the scoreboard).

Mazenod looked flat, whilst their seconds were hot to trot. No one should take them lightly, but their 3 losses have been significant.
