Round 3 - Honest Review Carey at Carey

Perfect conditions
Being an East West ground caused players a lot of sun issues especially the OI players.
Carey coming off a bye.
3-4 VFL back
Ressies had significant no’s back.
OI debuting another 3 players including a 16yo.

Bad kicking is bad football, and the Hoes are very guilty of some bad football.

In the 1st quarter, OC took all their opportunities and lead at the 1st quarter. Hoes missed too many gettable shots.

In the second and third quarter saw OI gain some ascendancy, and unfortunately towards the end of the 3rd quarter, Carey lost a player to a serious knee injury. In the process of stopping the game and getting the stretcher on the ground, a Carey player let their disappointment known to the young umpire, who proceeded to pay a 100 metre penalty, resulting in a simple goal to the young 16 yo.

After last weeks poor last quarter against Camb, OI were not going to suffer the same fate. Both teams didn’t take advantage of their forward pressure.

Hoes eventually ran out winners by 5 goals.

Carey are young, but have some strength in and around the ball. A lot of play goes through 22 (wingman).

Coach said they aren’t losing to many players overseas. They are expecting to do a Parkdale.

Time will tell.

See you next week Bedders.

How real is the run with PEGS and Old Camberwell?

Having had the latter the last 2 weeks, it would seem they have things going just right.
Can only comment on OC.

Mix of young and old. Will have issues if the ruckman doesn’t play. Hart and Allen still excellent contributors.

OC have beaten 3 teams expected to be there abouts (Old Carey was the unknown) so clearly they are there a contender barring injury’s.

Pegs have crushed Mazenod who came 3rd last year and beat Ormond and won a struggle vs Parkdale who are a good side.

IF both sides stay healthy would have to say both are for real, depth will be the major concern for both.

Great for the division to have 2 new sides there abouts, also says a lot about a few sides in C grade who seem to be complacent.

I said Pegs crushed Mazenod… who have played Ormond and beaten them. This shows Pegs are for real it would seem? If beat Mazenod by 10 goals and Mazenod beat Ormond. Will find out over the next few weeks once depth tested.
I agree with GI as you said beat Mazenod and beat Ormond , by the way it was only 4 points and could've gone either way , Ormond kicked goals at the end of the 2nd and 3rd but the umps deemed the siren had gone which it had , but that footy . Not mentioning any slings
