Except the problem for Old Mentonians is if they do come back next year, they will have to start all over again in D4, not Premier C.Surely its a year off, get recruiting and play clubbies and then go again next year?

Does anyone actually know what’s going on at Old Mentonians ?Except the problem for Old Mentonians is if they do come back next year, they will have to start all over again in D4, not Premier C.
Trying for a women’s side only in 2023.Does anyone actually know what’s going on at Old Mentonians ?

To attract players from the school they need to be at a level comparable to Beaumauris or St Bedes, its a long way back from D4 and they would effectively become a clubbies team. Hopefully the league will understand the circumstances of losing their home at short notice. and the impact it had and give them a chance to reset in D1.
Hey Pete , is Glen Eira a school team ?The latest rumour is that the VAFA is organising with other clubs to lend them excess players each week to field their teams.
Apparently St Bedes are on board and they are talking to Xavier about excess players they may have from the now defunct Under 23 division.
These players would be lent to Old Mentonians on a special clearance each week if not needed by their home clubs

FWIW I doubt Beauy will agree…..A nice idea from HQ, it's a shame that it won't work. The league has known for quite sometime that the club wasn't getting a senior side up, this just seems like a desperate grab to avoid a "C Grade" fixture stuff up like last year.
Along the same theme, will all clubs be able to contact the league to help them get players each week? Dear HQ, half of our reserve team is going to Europe in JUne/July. Any chance you could track down 10-15 players for 4-6 weeks??? A locum type arrangement perhaps?

And the June/July period this year when most of the players usually go to Europe takes place as the same time the Ashes series in England is on.A nice idea from HQ, it's a shame that it won't work. It would be a match day permit which would be generated to enable players to get a match. Good to see there is some light in the tunnel down at OM’s ?The latest rumour is that the VAFA is organising with other clubs to lend them excess players each week to field their teams.

Absolutely impossible to organise. How many players would want to do this? The players that would go to Mentone would be guys not good enough to play reserves or clubbies at their own club. Can you imagine them playing in a C grade senior team. Just shut the door and let C grade get their fixture organised. It would be a match day permit which would be generated to enable players to get a match. How many district sides have the VAFA tried to help this way?Cant blame the league for trying everything possible to help the club, I agree its a long shot of success but is at least worth a crack.

Your not a district sideHow many district sides have the VAFA tried to help this way?
Did I say my side was a district side? No. I said the VAFA wouldn't help district sides this way. Oh by the way it's you're not your.Your not a district side
If there was a surplus at St Bedes, Beauy and Parkdale I could see the left over guys happy to play for OM, they would likely know a few blokes in the team. The circumstances at OM are unique to most other clubs failing where this has appeared to come from no where, and can be directly correlated to being kicked out of their home and the club is financial.. unlike others who are on there knees.. OM could realistically bounce back quickly.Absolutely impossible to organise. How many players would want to do this?
