Unbelievable guys. Just unreal, still in disbelief that you guys are premiers... I couldn't pick another team id want to win it more then the bulldogs, apart from my pies obviously.

Congratulations, what yous have done shouldn't be underestimated, an absolutely huge effort! Everything that happened to yous this year, would make other teams that are weaker drop off a cliff. Its just a story everyone has to love.

congrats again!

Greetings fellow premiers! Sorry but I haven't been able to get online since the friend with whom I'm staying doesn't even have a computer and I've been on the go since my arrival Wednesday morning.

Firstly, even though he didn't want to be thanked publicly, My most heartfelt thanks to Deadly Dunkley for providing me with a ticket on a day which turned out to be the happiest day of my life. He will forever be in my favourite Bulldogs people book along with legends Chris Grant, Daniel Cross, David Smorgon and Rodney Eade. Being able to be at the Grand Final was the dream of a lifetime and to see us win, well, I started crying with two minutes to go and continued for at least another twenty minutes. Sorry I wasn't able to meet up with posters, but I do not have a Smartphone and I borrowed an old clunky Nokia from my friend and could not figure out how to text and the volume was unbelievably bad. But at least I was able to talk to a few people. I had the great pleasure of sitting next to ExRoyBoy and his lovely little daughter. It was so nice sitting next to another BFer for the match.

I arrived Wednesday at 7:30am and after a much needed shower and change of clothes headed off to the Whitten Oval on the 406 Footscray bus from East Keilor. Sat up in the stand by myself and looked around the ground at the many spots that have so much meaning for me, the places I sat or stood often in the pouring rain and the place I took the pic of my parents in 1979, though that little balcony area is no more. And I cried.

Arrived for training on Thursday and could not believe the number of people there. Met up with DD and got my ticket and then caught up with Pat and Jenny from The Year of the Dogs. When Pat saw me she burst into tears and so did I. I met them at training back in 2002 and remained friends. I called them once in a while and Pat gave me little gifts to bring home to my mum. Pat was not physically able to go to the GF, but she watched it at home. I called her after we won and again we both cried.

Friday I was going to the parade but decided to go straight to the MCG since my knees have been hurting quite a bit so I cold sit down. I was able to sit until the team came on stage. By that stage after all of the walking and traveling I thought it best to try and take it easy.

Saturday morning caught up with a friend at the MCG and walked all around the outside of the MCG, soaking up the atmosphere. I might go into my thoughts abut the game in another post. On the way back to my friend's place in East Keilor, I stopped in to a pizza place owned by a student I taught 40 years ago. On every trip when I've stopped in there he's told me that my money is no good there and the pizzas have always been free. It's the East Keilor Pizza Parlour on Dinah Parade. Best pizzas in the western suburbs!

I'm now writing this at Highpoint after having a delicious chicken parma and chips after returning from the family day. I caught up with Sue Alberti there. She saw me walking up the stairs and waved and motioned for me to come and see her. She remembered me from five years ago when we met at a President's Luncheon. She used to listen to my tipping on 774. I told her that when I saw her and Tony Liberatore hugging after the PF win that I cried like a little kid. Susan is one class act. To remember a no one like me after five years was humbling.

I am dead tired after the last seven days. But it has been worth every bloody minute!

The Western Bulldogs are the 2016 Premiers! Un-bloody-believeable.

So proud to share my pride with all of you. After 40 years, my dream came true. Thanks mum.

Just a quick question to all my fellow bulldogs.

The grand final hasn't started yet, a crystal ball tells you the following:

Tom Boyd will be (arguably) your best player in a relatively low scoring game.
Marcus Bontempelli will have a relatively quiet day (in comparison to his other finals)
Lachie Hunter won't even have 20 disposals.
Clay Smith will have little impact.
Stringer only kicks one goal
Morris has a broken back
Josh Kennedy will finish the game with over 30 disposals and 3 goals

Who wins?

So much upside to this team..

mate, so glad you could make it to one of the most memorable moments as a Bulldogs supporter. Coming all the way from the US on a whim to see your beloved Doggies win the 2016 AFL Grand Final.

Soak it in Chicago1 , we are the 2016 PREMIERS

Was going to post what it's like here in footscray. Last night and still now, today, car horns tooting up and down barkly street!

I watched at Whiiten with my boys and afterwards on Barkly it was like a NEw Years Eve crazy ten minutes but not stopping. In the middle of Barkly a mildly pissed guy gets on top of an older 4 cyl jap car ... Right in front of a cop car lol waiting for light change where cop car was right next to us. The guy sort of slipped/ fell off anyway as cops block car in middle of intersection.
Later something else happened where the whole of Barkly st was blocked to traffic / diversion

Hope that's not a downer! You can forgive crazy people under these circumstances surely?

Props to you DD. Chicago whispered in our ears to tell us about your generosity. Yet another reason to love our great club- so many people behind the scenes making dreams come true. :thumbsu:

Best day of my life, best week of my life, best month of my life. From the stress and panic but a little bit of confidence pre game to the nerves all during the game to the point I didn't leave my seat all game. Tom Boyd came of age (he's been looking like it for a while), JJ got heaps of it and improved kicking efficiency in the 2nd half. Libba, Biggs, Morris, Hamling, M.Boyd were all animals! Absolutely love this team, coached by a bloke who should have a statue built of him. We are the premiers! That's right let it all sink in... :)

SENSATIONAL DOGGIES. so many people have been inspired across Australia. Not just dog fans. I am saddened to have to call myself a bandwagoner only, but as a freo fan it was my favourite Grand final ever and I am so thrilled for that group of little legends.
Easton Wood set the sene early with the hardstuff coming off his man to smash jack hard and fair in my opinion and slowed down Hanneberey in similar fashion. Sydney good, J.kennedy brilliant but haven't the doggies showed us it can be a running little mans game. Picken, LukeyD, JJ a great decision for Normy. Tom Boyds best game yet how would be feel. All of them sensational.

Only a month ago we had written off 2016. Too many injuries. No continuity in the best 22. Not good enough etc etc. But here we are 4 games later with a premiership becuase this group said no to giving in. What the hell is all I keep thinking...

Not all of us had written us off... some of us dared to believe!

So much upside to this team..

When you say D. Morris breaks his back things really didn't sound good.
But they were terrific

Insanely jealous opposition poster here. Good onya. Hope Boydy plays on, and love that guys like him, Enright etc are making a mockery of the usual calls for players post 30 to retire.

Big fan of the way you quickly regenerated your list with a couple forced outs and a couple of bold plays; Tom Boyd in particular was a huge move, heavily criticised at the time (like the Buddy trade) but at the end of the day both teams with the balls to make the call ended up 1 and 2.

Still remember the feeling in the 4th quarter of 2004 GF knowing we'd actually won; an odd mix of relief and jubilation, coupled with the warm feeling that nothing could ever take away the fact that the club you support is about to win a premiership. Enjoy that feeling lads and take the week off work :thumbsu:
