There seems to be a sentiment that we fluked the flag, a lucky break before an era of GWS domination.

Those that say that clearly didn't watch us play against the Eagles, Hawthorn or GWS. We didn't fluke winning 19 out of 26 games this year either

for anyone who wants to see 4 different angle of Toyd's 4th quarter goal

25:10 minute mark

Apart from it easily being the best footy show on Telly this individual program has to be my favourite individual TV show of the year and maybe of all time. Gerard's and Robbo's unashamed love of the doggies is obvious. Clearly stems from Bob's time on the show. The package with the commentary from Will Anderson is fantastic. Still remember his speech at Fed Square before the march to the G for the Hawks final. The man has unbridled passion for his team which we all could model in the future.

Angle # 2,

Moz tackles, ball spills loose to Toyd who picks up and bombs it on the run..

meanwhile.

Franklin still laying on the ground thinking to himself - WTF

Boyds goal curved about 15 metres from left to right in what seems to be a perfectly weighted and angled Harlem globe trotter piece of magic.,.

Nah the camera angle is from left of goal already so looks a bit deceptive. Was heading straight through IMO (but close to the left post), but the bounce definitely went the right way!

I can sit and watch that moment all day long. In years to come that will be one of those Toyota Grand Final moments we will see replays of for years to come (Toyds goal)

Actually I can't recall posting in this thread yet.

Was thinking today that this finals series felt different. Plus I did something I probably wouldn't usually do and that was drive up the Hume Fwy to watch the prelim.

Come grand final day, whilst I wasn't over-confident I actually expected us to win. I was emotionally invested in the game like the rest of us but wasn't anxious like the week before. I knew by GF day it was our time

I've watched CH 7 montage of reactions to the final siren (huge Florence and the Machine fan btw) and I've always wondered who Roughy was pointing at
when the siren went. Before that, I had to pause the IQ replay to see who crashed into Liam Picken for a celebratory hug and nearly knocked him to the ground - Josh Dunkley hahah. That montage is always the one I come back to, Easton Wood "ugly" crying was captured beautifully. :)

I felt my family and friends curse on the Dogs had been lifted in western Sydney. Most of us had attended all 7 prelim losses and we all missed this year. On behalf of my family and friends I apologize for the 30 years of pain since 85!

Once the curse was solved - I need to stay away from future prelims - I was calm and confident on GF day. The good news is we always win grand finals I attend ( been to the 2 VFL ones in 14 and 16 too ) so the club has to make sure I get tickets for the Grand finals from now on!

No idea which thread to post this in but will go with this one.

Jake Stringer - although my name would suggest otherwise Im not his number 1 fan and can be critical of the selfishness that he shows quite often.
But ive been watching the finals series and outside of the normal celebrating goals you kick with everyone but your team mates that still irks me I have to say he adjusted bigtime in regards to team play in the time he had come back into the side.

Everyone will mention the Dickson centering kick in the Prelim or the Picken centering kick in the Grand final.
I actually really liked his tackle and harassment through finals also.
His grand final goal was absolutely top shelf and underrated in my book.

But watch Tom Boyds second goal in the second qtr.
Bont marks the ball at half fwd after an awesome kick from smith.
Watch stringer - he runs with his back to play.... notices Boyd all alone in the middle and then pushes hard into the pocket drawing Grundy away from Boyd.
At the same time Stringer has his arm out telling Bonti to look central towards Boyd.

Anyway its just a small thing that not many may pick up but thats the sort of team play and selflessness that produces a grand final win.
If stringer doesnt have the mind to do that - Grundy falls back and spoils easy - he nearly made the spoil as it was.
