Not sure what Hale is bringing to the table? Wouldn't have earmarked him as coaching material.
See ball in air
Tap ball to advantage OR mark if it was kicked in your direction
Kick/handpass to advantage
Kick goal yourself
Coaching is pretty simple!

They'll likely want to claim a few scalps in their tenure at Freo
I think if Fyfe goes bald in two or so years you can blame them.Fyfe is in serious trouble. Expect a new haircut within days.
Yeah yeah! They'll likely want to claim a few scalps in their tenure at Freo
So that's what that song is about. How do you fall off a trojan horse though?
I read your posts with an harpsichord leitmotif playing in the background of my mind
Just thought you'd like to know
I would never have imagined people talking about harpsichord leitmotifs on Bigfooty...
I am now imagining BT playing the harpsichord along with his commentary. Kinda worksI would never have imagined people talking about harpsichord leitmotifs on Bigfooty...
No, you fall out of a Trojan horse. So that's what that song is about. How do you fall off a trojan horse though?
And if you fall out I'll put you back in - put you back in - yeah! No, you fall out of a Trojan horse.

yeah i don't like it too but how would that work? if you include a non-compete clause in a contract doesn't that mean you would have to pay them whilst on 'gardening leave'? what club could afford to keep ex-players on the payroll beyond their playing days and would this be included in the salary cap?http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-01-...-training-with-strong-focus-on-kicking-skills
Hale's appointment to Freo has really got me thinking about non-compete clauses in AFL contracts. They exist in other industries, so why not in the AFL coaching ranks? To jump ship to one of our main challengers with all that intell stinks to me. Go work somewhere else for a year or two on 'gardening leave' first.
I would say the rewards of their increased focus would be at least 2 - 3 years from paying off. We switched styles somewhat in 2010 to this style of play and it really took until 2011/2012 to start to see consistent results. That was factoring in that we had already recruited the talent to execute the game-plan 2 years earlier. There's a big difference between talking about improving foots kills and being able to execute.
Non-compete agreements should be illegal as they are a clear restraint of trade. Doubt very much the players association is going to allow them given the best chance a lot of them have of making a career post footy is in coaching.yeah i don't like it too but how would that work? if you include a non-compete clause in a contract doesn't that mean you would have to pay them whilst on 'gardening leave'? what club could afford to keep ex-players on the payroll beyond their playing days and would this be included in the salary cap?

True, but I am probably more concerned about the overall loss of our IP and losing our 'edge'. I believe we do have a significant edge over all the current crop of challenges, so much so that 2016 as ours to lose. I'll probably pay for that prediction. Nonetheless the constant drain of coaches & senior players to other clubs really does represent a bit of a challenge. There's a big difference between talking about improving foots kills and being able to execute.

Agree with this. All recruitment (in both corporate and other spheres) is predicated on a mix of experience, expertise, etc. It's all part of the package you're purchasing with your new employee.Non-compete agreements should be illegal as they are a clear restraint of trade. Doubt very much the players association is going to allow them given the best chance a lot of them have of making a career post footy is in coaching.
